Have a safe trip, Mr. President. Iraq is certainly much safer thanks to this victory in the war on terror. Merry Christmas to all the troops in Iraq, and to all the Iraqi Christians, عيد الميلاد سعيد

Socialist would be state ownership of business/property. Which business/property does Bush now own?

I don’t like the fact that our Govt has spent so much $$ on bailing out the banks and I don’t want to spend a dime helping the UAW via the auto industry but we don’t and won’t and shouldn’t OWN them.

Big difference in my eyes.

Harriet Meiers was probably not the best choice, but then I don’t know what the President was thinking. Maybe he KNEW that she would be reliably pro-life and would get through the nomination process easily.

Regardless of her qualifications or lack thereof, there was no reason for the adolescent name-calling and vindictiveness with which she was treated, and the public trashing of the President’s nominee BY HIS OWN PARTY weakened him considerably.

I have my disagreements with President Bush. Some things that he has done pisses me off. That said, don't even try to speak for "us" with your opinion on hoping Bush stay in Iraq. You're not smart enough.

Did you really disagree with Bush on anything?

What?

I said, I had my disagreements with Bush and you respond by asking me if I "really disagree with Bush on anything". As I said don't even try to speak for "us"...you're not smart enough.

BTW, this is a Bush in Iraq thread, if you hadn't noticed.

In contrasting news - and at least related to the THREAD, Operation Gratitude sent 400,000 packages to our troops yesterday.

Oh, tsk tsk. Your blood is boiling? Well, too bad.

It makes me wonder just exactly who would be your idea of a good president? How about in the pasr? Got ANYONE who could measure up to your standards of perfection?

Bush did the right move by going into Iraq. But I had a belief that he had a team around him that knew what to do. He should have gotten rid of Rumsfeld when he heard the the first bit of rumbling about the failures over there. His loyalty to old timers was a severe cost to many young lives of soldiers in Iraq. Afghanistan should have been our main focus. I'm still realistic that there is nothing value in Afghanistan nor will there ever be other than a training camp for terror and a weapons testing ground for us. The more direct way to fight this would be to follow the money trail and inflict damage there.

H/T Southack Yet one more member of the evil Bushbot Cults.

“Read what read how NAZI Germany nationalized it’s industries than look at your hero.”

You are assuming I haven’t...and I have.
1 I don’t support the bailout, never have..never will.
2 Which industries did the Nazis nationalize?

The difference between you and the other rightwing nutters and folks like us is we live in the real world. It’s a world where poilitcians do somethings right and others wrong. It’s not a black and white world.

I bet they have a higher “approval rating” than the American Congress have.

And why not, they do more for the people than the US Congress.

I believe we ARE hitting them financially also.

As for getting rid of Rummy, well, its always easier to be brilliant after soemthing doesn’t work out well. On the other hand, its difficult to know which is worse, moving rummy out and the cosequences with that, or leaving him in.
