You really don’t pay attention, do you? I have been here all along.

You haven't posted an article since February 2007, and then there is this comment you made on December 14:

I have even pretty much gone away from FR and let it alone, as I was afraid a lot of it was animosity towards me, and if I went somewhere else a lot of this would stop.

Just sayin'.....

Well, everyone has his/her limit.

Although I don’t like government intervention, I am not willing to see several million families devastated by massive layoffs, small businesses fail, and my state (and a lot of others) driven to depression conditions in order to prove a point.

I am a pragmatist, not an ideological conservative. I suppose if you have a secure income you can take a hard line position. Since my husband is already working 1000 miles away from me and we cannot sell our house due to the real estate crisis, I am a little more empathetic to the people connected to Detroit’s auto industry.

And I will also tell you that people who write this hard line approach, or talk it on radio, are losing people for the Republican party. President Bush at least has enough sense to try to do something, rather than taking a laissez-faire approach.

This is one of your problems. You see the world as it only relates to you and make assumptions about others that are not true. Therefore, you probably end up wrong more often than not.

On the contrary, my husband works for a small manufacturing company that hasn’t quite recovered from the last recession. My husband was laid off from both of his jobs (full time and part time) for a long time.

The company just laid off employees and the rest had to take a 20% paycut. Manufacturing has been depressed for a long time here in WI. However, it is a small company, non-union, and fat chance in hell anyone will be handing it any free money.

I do not think that it is right for the auto workers to be saved from the nasty fate the rest of us have to face using what little money we have left. It is OUR money that will be used.

Auto workers reaped the benefits of fat paychecks and benefits for years that other manufacturing workers did not have. What makes them so special? The unions are what helped to bring manufacturing down. Time to pay the piper.

The Republican party deserves to lose people. It no longer represents what it used to. We have left. I’m sure others have too.

No, we don’t have a secure income. But we would be a heck of alot better off if the government stayed out of our way and stopped playing nanny to whining union workers.

We’ll never heal with an attitude like your’s! It’s people like you who won’t let the rest of the country heal. Even with Obama getting in, you’ll still be on here carrying on about everything Pres. Bush did to mess everything up, won’t you?

Well, go squeal to Pres. Obama now, maybe he’ll make all your sweet dreams come true! If not, I hope you’ll spend the same amount of time and energy,(not to mention vitriol)as you spend in ripping Bush right now! How about it?

Healing isn’t what needs to happen in the republican party.

What needs to happen is all RINO’s need to go to the democrat party where they belong.

And like it or not Bush is a RINO no different then McCain and not much different at the end then Obama.

List differences between O and Bush, there are not that many.

That’s what you said! That’s why I replied that way! No. 3, there’s a load of difference between “O and Bush”. If you can’t tell the difference, well I can’t help you! No.3, a lot of what you said is YOUR opinion, not fact.

Everyone’s got an opinion, but that doesn’t make it a fact. You’re entitled to yours’ and I am to mine. He was conservative enough for me and all the arrogant lectures from you will not change my feelings about things!

Excuse me there, there are 3 or 4 points on here and I keep labeling them as “No. 3”. Sorry about that, I must be tired, and trying to argue with people!

Bush is nothing more than a RINO if he is consevative enough for you, well he isn’t conservative at all.

So what does that say about you?

You’re not conservative?

Please make a list of what el’bush stands for and what dirtbag Obama stands for.

I think you will find there isn’t much difference, add McCain t the list too.

While Bush claims to be pro-life he signed bills giving Planned Parenthood tens of millions of taxpayer dollars.

He signed bills giving tens of millions of dollars to ACORN.

He has engineered the largest transfer of wealth in our nations history, twice. One his prescription drug benefit to the elderly, and the recent nationalizations of anything not moving.

BTW-the model used for nationalizing these companies is the SAME model that Adolf Hitler used in 1939.

Kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy doesn’t it.

Well see here! I’m just as conservative as they come, and I still think he’s conservative for me! Besides, is it up to you to decide whether a person is a conservative or not? What makes you the judge of conservatism, hmmm? I believe it depends on what you’re conservative about, don’t you? Just like there are many kinds of love, there are different types of conservative. Just like beauty, it’s in the eye of the beholder!

I’ll tell you what, maybe you should just take care of your own self, and stop judging other conservatives, eh? This board is for conservatives. But it doesn’t say what brand of conservative should be able to comment! It doesn’t say something like “Only true, pure and holy, real conservatives can use it.”!

A lot of different people get on here and share this board. Most are conservatives of some form. Even a few liberals get on at times. If only ‘certain’ types of conservatives were allowed, there wouldn’t be very many posters on here! And look at the number of people that use this board. Several hundreds, if not thousands!

If you Bushbashers want to drive everybody off who still admire Pres. Bush or Sen. McCain, you have quite a job ahead of you! You aren’t going to go very far convincing them with bully tactics and lectures! While a lot of them may have stopped supporting them, there are still a lot of them who haven’t!
Consider! Better climb off of that high horse now!

No, conservatism is not in the eye of thw beholder.

Any person that holds such a belief is deluding themselves and hoping to delude others.

It is no different than someone who is pro-abortion saying they are pro-life because it is after all in the eye of the beholder.

Bush is a republican socialist as is McCain. Their cult of personality followers are also republican socialists if they hold the same values.

Conservatism is after all a certain set of beliefs. One either holds thosw beliefs or not. That is what determines if one is conservative or not.

A person does not determine if they are conservative without any prevailing standard.

By your own thinking Obama could claim he is a conservative.

The republican party needs to have people liike McCain and Bush to leave the party and become what they really are in their hearts, democrats.
