You completely washed away your “through Bush glasses” with me when you said “Harriet Meiers.” I would continue to respond, but that has me laughing too hard to continue. You may have been here since the sight was born, but that does not make you the VOICE of this conservative. You have your opinion of Bush and I have mine. We’ll just leave it at that.
Harriet Meiers was probably not the best choice, but then I don’t know what the President was thinking. Maybe he KNEW that she would be reliably pro-life and would get through the nomination process easily.
Regardless of her qualifications or lack thereof, there was no reason for the adolescent name-calling and vindictiveness with which she was treated, and the public trashing of the President’s nominee BY HIS OWN PARTY weakened him considerably.
