Pressure on Emanuel over Senate scandal
The Guardian ^ | 12/15/08 | Ed Pilkington

Barack Obama's choice to be his White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is coming under mounting pressure to make a full disclosure about his contacts with the disgraced governor of Illinois over the billowing Senate "seat for sale" scandal.

Federal investigators are looking into communication between Emanuel and Rod Blagojevich, the governor who was last week charged with trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by Obama to the highest bidder.

-snip-

Blagojevich is expected today to respond to calls for him to quit. According to the Illinois attorney general, Lisa Madigan, he will either resign or agree temporarily to step aside in a deal that would allow him to keep drawing his salary.

Looks like we are getting more news on this from the UK than our own press.

Ahhh!!!! Look at all these shots at Emanuel coming from across the pond!

Doesn't anyone get it?! He's being thrown under the bus!

Shrewd bastards, the "Hope and Change" Team. They've got a list of victims lined up that should carry them through the inaugural ball.

That’s ‘cause the news day begins earlier there. And if you’re in the propaganda business, you use that to your advantage. You FORCE the NYT to carry your message.

Did Emanuel work to make a deal with Hillary or a New York Gov. for her Senate seat? Wasn’t Emanuel close to the Clintons?

Clinton was at least in office for a year before the scandals started breaking. Hussein hasn’t even taken the office yet. I thought the media would cover for him through his first term, but they may not have a choice.

The younger generations don’t remember why we put the adults back in the office. They probably will learn though in the coming years.

The media is at fault for this. This is just the tip of the ice berg.

Blagojevich is expected today to respond to calls for him to quit.

Blago's already declined to resign and undoubtedly said "no bleeping way, bleepers."

Rahm will be sacrificed by Zeroman without a second thought. Then it'll be Rahm's turn to talk about the "bleepers".

This is just the first in a looooong line of embarassments that we'll be subjected to after Jan. 20th.

He’s a member of the House of Representatives representing Illinois. I think he retained his seat in the 2008 election so I guess he could go back to being in the House. Hey Alcee Hastings was impeached and thrown out of Federal judgeship and how hes a member of the House!

But who, exactly, is putting “pressure” on Emanuel? Certainly not the Democrats. And if it’s the Republicans, who cares? If it’s the MSM, it’s only to sell a few more papers or get a few more viewers for a short while. The only thing Emanuel needs to do is lawyer up and shut up. After Obama is sworn in, all this goes pffffffffffft.

According to the Illinois attorney general, Lisa Madigan,

She should recuse herself. She is a candidate for the Senate position herself.

Isn’t Emanuel connected to the Clintons? Didn’t he work for the Clintons?

Rahm may have a high pucker factor in his tutu. This may be one dance he can't pirouette away from fast enough.

Is Rahm wielding another steak knife?
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article5106463.ece

"When Lyman reads a Washington Post profile of him which tells how he sent a congressman a rotting fish in the post (mail), he asks his assistant, Donna, if she was the source. In fact, it was Mr Emanuel – who reportedly once sent a pollster he had fallen out with the same gift – as a warning never to cross him again.

It is not the only episode in Mr Emanuel’s history which reads like a scene from a gangster movie.

At a dinner to celebrate Bill Clinton’s first presidential victory – Mr Emanuel was his chief fundraiser – he began to reel off the names of those who had 'crossed' him. He grabbed a steak knife and began plunging it into the table shouting “Dead! Dead! Dead!” after each name.

“When he was done the table looked like a lunar landscape,” a witness relates. “It was like something out of The Godfather. But that’s Rahm for you.”

What makes anyone think he will run Barry's White House any differently? Past behavior predicts future behavior. Barry KNOWS how this guy works, otherwise he would not have picked him. Barry is treated like the only trick in the brothel who is a virgin.

Try this, Mr. Emanuel.

"Now you listen to me. I am going to say this again: I did not have discourse with that man, Governor Blagojevich."

Just trying to help the White House-elect.

From Michael Sneed's column today in the Chicago Sun-Times:

The Blago beat . . .

Blagojevich, who spent eight hours Thursday and four hours Saturday meeting with attorney Ed Genson -- who may ramrod Blago's legal team -- is "not in a mind to resign" ... yet, a source said, despite an avalanche of requests to do so.

• • Although it looks like Blago is heading toward resignation, an abrupt move now is not imminent -- and he doesn't want a resignation seen as an indication of guilt. The gov is still weighing all his legal options. Stay tuned.

I've found her to be pretty spot on about a lot of things.

Exactly!! NO ONE is putting pressure on Emanuel because HE KNOWS where EVERYONE has buried their bodies......he's been in EVERYONE'S CAMP!!!!!!!!

Lawyer up, Rahm.....UNLESS there's another ballet slipper ready to fall, he is free as a bird.

Ann, the ONLY things that can harm Emanuel or Obama are things that can get them indicted and arrested BEFORE Obama is sworn in. After that, nothing else pertaining to legal matters can be said or done by anyone to cause Obama or Emanuel any restless nights.
