And that is the real trap too. If we sell F-22's to Israel we will have to sell them to the Saudi's. It will be impossible not to. And if we sell them to Australia or Britain it will be impossible not to sell them to Israel.

I'm actually less interested in who we are going to sell them to than I am in how many we are going to buy and deploy ourselves. I think the Obama administration will scale back the purchase or cancel the program outright.

Somehow American technology sold to Israel ends up in Israeli products sold to China.

The F-22 should stay at home. The only possible exceptions are the only two nations we can trust, Britain and Australia.

""I'll go with that."

That and ONLY that. And, if GB continues to coddle their domestic terrorist, I'd scratch them from the list.

It’s a good idea. We’re going to need our allies to watch our back when Obama’s in charge.

The F-22 is strictly a Fighter. The F-35 is multi roll. Along the line of the F-15 vs F-16 before the F-15E. There has been talk of a line of ground attack munitions for the F-22, but I do not know how far along they are. Once you start hanging weapons on it stealth goes out the window. So weapons load would be very low. What I’ve heard of is a small diameter guided bomb along the lines of JDAMs.

Isreal has been a little loose with sharing our technology in the past. They may have to wait a little while before we share the F-22.

Nah. The Israelis need and deserve the best we have to offer.

And GB, no matter how accommodating their lower level politicos have been to the muzzies, deserve them.

Aussies and Canadians, without a doubt.

Don’t sell them to anyone until Obama is out of office.

I would be hesitant to sell the F22 to anyone these days. Better to let events unfold further before we let it out of our control. Better we buy a bunch of them for ourselves ASAP too. The F22 may end up being the best investment America ever made.

Actually I was only trying to be a bit compromising. I would not sell the F22 to any nation. Let all wait for an eventual version of the F35 to be put in production.
The US should keep the F22 for it's own personal use for the time being. That is until a new even more advance airframe with even more sophisticated packages that can clearly out perform the F22 both in the flight envelope, stealth modes, as well as clearly more advanced radar and fire control systems is proven in, is made available.
And I clearly mean no dis-respect to Poland nor the four nations I previously mentioned.
