Pimp My Show: Shuster Replaces Gregory at '1600'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 12/15/2008 8:17:34 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

MSNBC has banished the last bastion of objectivity from its line-up of evening hosts. The network has announced that David Shuster [file photo] will be replacing David Gregory as host of '1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.' [H/t Mike Allen's Political Playbook.] Gregory, his pending Meet The Press appointment no doubt in mind, had been on his best behavior while hosting 1600. Gregory was an oasis of objectivity in the liberal MSNBC desert. Shuster will be under no such restraints.

The evening Eastern time line-up will henceforth stand:

* 5 PM: Hardball with Chris Matthews
* 6 PM: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with David Shuster
* 7 PM: Hardball rerun
* 8 PM: Countdown with Keith Olbermann
* 9 PM: The Rachel Maddow Show

Keep these sorry excuses for journalists on the Blagojevich scandal. It is the one thing they do not want to talk about. They want the scandal to go away....but as long as Blago is in office this story stays on the front page.

Let Blago know we think he is innocent until proven guilty.

We need a Conservative network. Faux started out with some conservative leanings, but isn’t anymore. Britt Hume was a breath of fresh air, but his show always included libs on the pannel. (Smart ones too, compared to the cave-dwellers most everywhere else.) O’Reilly is more a populist than a conservative. Alan Colmes is leaving Hannity, but Hannity is a jingoistic lightweight, though his heart is in the right place. Most of the rest of Faux is full of tabloid shows, news babes, Geraldo and Shep, etc. It is the New York Post of TV stations, truely.

Shuster has the most irritating voice in television and I’d rather listen to somebody scratching a blackboard with their fingers, than listen to Shuster and is whining, monotone voice.

Add to that the man’s apparent stupidity and you’ve got yourself a show that even MSNBC will cancel eventually.

Given current economic conditions, the whole MSNBC network may need to be canceled. Let’s hope it is sooner, rather than later.

Gregory was an oasis of objectivity in the liberal MSNBC desert...

In what alternative universe?

Cannot stand the LIB Shyster. When he was on FOX News years ago, many of us complained about his liberal bias and then MSNBC gobbled him up. He fits in with their agenda.

I realize of course that Gregory was very aggressive as a White House correspondent. Don’t know if you watched 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., but he was fair and objective as host.

"aggressive"?

Well, I guess you could call it that: Aggressively "obnoxious", "soused", "ignorant", "uber-rude", etc.

OMG!!

I hope NBC goes bankrupt. They are beyond despicable, and David Shuster is in Olbermann's league. These two are the worst of the worst. I'm actually speechless....

NBC must love Shuster, or they wouldn't give him a show. I should know better, but these networks still manage to outrage me...
