That is what this all comes down to, he was using her to get pissed off Hillary supporters, he expected Sarah to be a “good little girl, look cute, smile, and do whatever I say” Sarah knew what a total blowhard he was when he voted for that bailout, I would be shocked if she didn’t call him a hypocrite at some point, “Hey John, you want me to call Obama a socialist, isn’t that what you are?” She got more people to come to her rallies, she had people chanting HER name, even at his stupid concession speech the people there were chanting “WE WANT SARAH” he did not allow her to speak, the ultimate insult, he is a schmuck, he didn’t expect Sarah to actually have opinions, to speak her mind, he expected her to repeat his talking points, she did not agree with him, she wanted to bring up Wright, Ayers, Rezco, Khalidi, he wanted to be Mr. Nice Guy, he screwed up, so he is now screwing her over. This is nothing new with McCain, with his track history, this is exactly how he treats women
btw, did you see the article where MCCain’s top pollster and campaign manager appeared at Harvard and were asked about not using Wright? The pollster said, well if we used Wright we would have gotten 273 EV but we would have lost the popular vote big.
Uh, who cares about the popular vote. If you had gotten the 273 EV that means you win.
It’s like The Patriots complaining they won the Super Bowl last year because they got more total yards than the Giants.
And Obama’s guy said Palin totally ended McCain’s experience argument even though McCain crushed Obama 93-7 on experience in the exit poll, a much greater amount than Obama beat McCain by on change.
Maybe what hurt McCain was totally losing control for a few days in late September, suspending his campaign, threatening to quit the debate, heading to DC to lead talk that ended in failure and revolt by his own oarty, and then continuing to harp on earmarks even as he just voted to spend 700B in taxpayer money that far dwarfs any earmarks.
Palin did she was put there for in the main. She kept the % of white women up near where it needed to be(actually increased over GWB from 2004 in FL), and 10-15 pts higher than McCain was polling throughout the summer and after the Dem Convention. She kept close to 20% of Hillary voters, especially in states like OH, PA, FL and other key states. She got GOP support at 90% and conservative support at near 80% when those numbers seemed unthinkable for McCain at one point and certainly would have been with Ridge or Lieberman. She made sure the pro lifers and the gun owners and NRA were on board which probably won him MO and would have been the difference in NC, IN and OH. She gave him his first sustained lead of the campaign for close to 2 weeks before the economic collapse finished him off. She actually got his fundraising going for a few days before it didn’t matter anymore because he basically disarmed himself by agreeing to the public financing.
Anyone who knows anything about politics knows that she’s way down the list of why McCain lost, and to be honest, once the economy tanked in September, he really had no shot of winning.
If she had known that would happen back in August she would have declined the offer.
But things happen.
You have to give McCain credit for putting Sarah on the ticket. That we are talking about a formerly little known governor of Alaska in terms of her being a superstar is a major miracle in itself. But that’s as charitable I am going to get towards McCain. McCain-accept the fact that your time has come and gone. Get out of the way-Sarah is about to come through.
