Sen. John McCain said Sunday he would not necessarily support his former running mate if she chose to run for president. Speaking to ABC's "This Week," McCain was asked whether Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin could count on his support. "I can't say something like that. We've got some great other young governors. I think you're going to see the governors assume a greater leadership role in our Republican Party," he said. He then mentioned governors Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and Jon Huntsman of Utah.

Screw him.
Who knows what could happen between now and 2012?
I love Palin, but I can't necessarily say I would vote for her for President 4 years prematurely. That would be dumb, not knowing if a better candidate might arise in the meantime.
McCain is a walking poster-boy for what is wrong with the Republican party.
The body language between McCain and Palin the night of McCain’s concession speech spoke volumes.
I always thought McCain was envious and jealous that Palin was drawing such huge crowds, while McCain was barely scraping together a few hundred (before he put Palin on the ticket).
She upstaged him and he didn’t appreciate it.
Lord knows McCain needed Palin, and it still wasn’t enough. She, OTOH, doesn’t need him.
Re-Elect Palin/Jindal ‘16.
You took the words right out of my mouth...THANK U!
That is what this all comes down to, he was using her to get pissed off Hillary supporters, he expected Sarah to be a “good little girl, look cute, smile, and do whatever I say” Sarah knew what a total blowhard he was when he voted for that bailout, I would be shocked if she didn’t call him a hypocrite at some point, “Hey John, you want me to call Obama a socialist, isn’t that what you are?” She got more people to come to her rallies, she had people chanting HER name, even at his stupid concession speech the people there were chanting “WE WANT SARAH” he did not allow her to speak, the ultimate insult, he is a schmuck, he didn’t expect Sarah to actually have opinions, to speak her mind, he expected her to repeat his talking points, she did not agree with him, she wanted to bring up Wright, Ayers, Rezco, Khalidi, he wanted to be Mr. Nice Guy, he screwed up, so he is now screwing her over. This is nothing new with McCain, with his track history, this is exactly how he treats women
Agreed.
McCain was good for one thing only. He brought Sarah into the national spotlight for all to see. It is she and not he that gave and continues to give conservatives hope that there IS someone willing to step up to the plate of a leader, one that serves her constituents and not herself.
McCain, in all else you have failed. Youre a pussy! I now understand how you were shot down in Vietnam. A fighter pilot fights and attacks. You did neither then or in your latest battle against a socialist enemy you know dam good and well will be the death nail of the country you say you love. This also makes you a liar too. But hey, your a career politician, how could I have been so foolish to believe anything coming from your lips. Sarah tried some of her lipstick on you but your still a pig.
John McCain is most definitely a FIRST CLASS PLICK.
Exactly, I think its as petty as that. Sarah outdrew him at least 10-1 everywhere she went. He didn’t like that. I went to their campaign headquarters and asked for a bumpersticker. They gave me one that just said “McCain”.
I asked for a Sarah sticker. They acted put out and got me a McCain/Palin sticker from a drawer somewhere.
Endorse her? She’s not running yet...but, if she does, I’m pretty certain that he will—especially if Hickabee or the Romulan are in the running in the primaries!

If McCain refuses back her in 2012 ,,, then I would call
that a real endorsement for a true conservative candidate .
Mac might be a war hero ,but to me he’s a real zero . He lost the support of his party ,, not Sarah .
Exactly. At this point, being endorsed by McCain is not a positive.
The real issue is McCain’s email list, fundraisers, field people, contacts in NH/SC/IA, etc...
Mitt already has his own people and staff and fundraisers, So does Huck.
If McCain would hand over much of his organization to her, that would be much more of a help than any endorsement. Kerry actually helped Obama out by doing the same thing for him.
At this point though 2012 is so far away. I expect we’ll get a much better idea two years from now. If the economy recovers and the natl security/terrorism front is ok and Obama looks unbeatable, I doubt Palin or Jindal or Sanford or Palwnety or any other young Gov will run a worthless quest to lose big a la Dole in 96.
The party will give Mitt or Huck, most likely Mitt, his turn as the sacrificial lamb, and plan for 2016 like they did with W for 2000.
If, OTOH, the economy gets worse or Obama resembles Carter II, I think you see everyone jump in and it could get very interesting.
McCaub would have gotten at least 48-49% if the economy had stayed as it was on 9/15 so things are not as bad they seem. The total economic collapse and McCain’s inexplicable behavior from 9/22-9/26 along with his lacklsuter debate performaces skewed the vote totals in the end by at least 2-3 pts I believe.
Kerry, Gore and now McCain
How can there be a ??? on that
"Have no doubt of my admiration and respect for her and my view of her viability, but at this stage, again ... my corpse is still warm, you know?" he replied.
i.e. McCain wants to run again in 2012. He knows Palin is his biggest (and better liked) rival.
Yep.
Watch McCain position himself to be the breaker-of-evil Republican-Filibusters.
He’s a little twirp.
If I was 50 years older, I’d kick his ass.
I hate everything about this POS... and I hate him for making me hate him!
