"Fitz seems to be unclear on what he is doing.

Fitz always knows exactly what he is doing. Even if he's doing the wrong thing. He wants to firm up evidence before impeachment...OR....there are other Big Fish out there, and he wants to play with Blago a bit (a new meaning for "pay-to-play")..

This SNAFU is gloriously FUBAR; FTA: Mr. Blagojevich has not yet been indicted in the criminal investigation, and some experts say the inquiry might create problems for federal prosecutors’ criminal proceedings against him, if witnesses are compelled to testify and are granted immunity.

“If you grant people immunity, you can really screw up investigations,” said Ronald J. Allen, a professor of law at Northwestern, pointing to the case of Oliver L. North, whose conviction in the Iran-contra affair was thrown out because of immunity granted during Congressional hearings. Professor Allen said most at risk were potential cases against people who were involved but have not yet been charged.

It should be a suppurating pustule on the anus of the Red Messiah's administration for many months, worse even than a malignant hemorrhoid.

Fitz seems to be unclear on what he is doing.

FWIW, I doubt it.

But whether or not what Fitz is doing really serves the people's interests is another matter.

"Fitz seems to be unclear on what he is doing."

Fizzy knows damn well what the Illinois House is doing -- which is -- surreptitiously undoing what precious little case he has left after a financially and morally bankrupt Trib short-circuited a Federal investigation.

The Illinois House, er, the Illinois Democrat Club and Borscht Hall hates Zod, but Barry can show them the money. If they have to wreck Fizzy's case to save Barry (and Triple J), they won't hesitate.

Our side will be well served if Blagojevich receives due process and a complete and open disclosure of all pertinent evidence.

I wonder if the MSM realizes how much their readership/viewership would go up if they exposed Illinois politics to a little sunshine. It might even keep a few newspapers out of Chapter 11. A big Obama scandal would sell a lot of newspapers.

Fitz is CHA and doing a little pay to play negotiating of his own. I'll betcha that he's talking his rear off in an attempt to get Obomba to reappoint him if he (Fitz) makes this whole thing go away.

Can we all say blackmail boys and girls?

Of course, as always this is jmho.

... Impeachment Inquiry Stalls

Impeachment is a political action. So far, they are seeking impeachment because Rod is an embarrassment. I'm not sure that is an impeachable offense, even in Illinois.

No Fitz is clear on what he’s doing exactly. He doesn’t want his case ruined by a bunch of pols that want to bury the body (evidence) as fast as possible.

It puts the pols in a no win situation. And I love it.

As always, a salient observation, Senator. But I think our hopes are mostly dependent on Gov. Zod f'ing up in negotiations (showing his hand to get a reduced sentence), rather than Brian Ross and Jake Tapper breaking anything new.

And how sad is it when I name two ABC numbnuts at least doing something on this story, instead of a take-no-prisoners nutcracker at Fox?

That's the behind-the-scenes, labyrinth analysis.

As Lisa was thinking, It sure would make a BIG difference if the IL House doesn't have to hear all the recriminations everybody has against everybody else (now there's a full docket!) during any impeachment hearings. If the IL House has to wreck Fitzy's case to save 0bambi and/or Triple J (our pols and/or our thugs), it short-circuits the let-sleeping-dogs-lie mess for all of us (that are beholden-to-democrats).

Jim Lehrer (PBS) and NBC's MTP have declared this "pay-to-play" de rigeur, no big deal, and everybody does it, so can't we just fuggedaboudit? /s Boy doesn't that look at once insane and democrat SOP?

113-0 on the impeachment vote! A good showing---so far as it goes (which is certainly limited if Blago isn't convinced to throw in the towel upon hearing stern, mere words.

I have a feeling this scandle is “over.”

Fitzgerald’s preemptive release of information has prevented anything illegal from actually taking place, and the circling of the wagons by the IL Dems and Obama means there will be no new revelations.

We will be entering the “boring” and extended legal manuevering stage, which will cause the story to slowly move out of the MSM. Blago will at the end of all this eventually be slapped on the wrist and put out to pasture.

The Senate seat discovery was made during an ongoing investigation. We don’t know what else is on the tapes or who might be on the hook.
