He has a better shot at getting pardoned by Maliki than Ramos&Compean getting pardoned by Bush.

Tough guy now crying like a little girl. You had the gonads to throw the shoes in front of the cameras to appease your lefty friends, be man enough to take your punishment you gutless coward.

Rather than a pardon, how about just "Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Defect"?
To: NormsRevenge
Yeah, Bush would pardon him.

Agreed about Ramos and Compean unfortunately. As far as the “journalist” is concerned, a pardon in this case might not be so bad for us in the long run. Especially if President Bush calls for it himself.

Let's steal a Baghdad Bob line here: "Britain Muntadhar al-Zaidi is not worth an old shoe!"
(Shoes represent scorn in Iraqi culture. Deliberately stepping on something with the bottom of your shoe shows disrespect. That's why all those Iraqis stepped on Saddam's picture and beat it with their shoes after he was overthrown).

“It is too late to now to regret the big and ugly act that I perpetrated,” al-Zeidi wrote... Typical Muslim. No honor. They attack when your back is turned, and then whimper on their bellies and beg for mercy when they are captured. He bragged that he had planned the attack for months, but now that he has learned he will get two years in an Iraqi prison we are supposed to believe he's suddenly remorseful? Sheesh... what a loser.
The amazing thing is that he is a hero to many Arab Muslims. They actually admire his shameful behavior. A culture that admires cowards IS a culture of cowards.

Were I President Bush, I would ask the Prime Minister to remind him (Muntadhar al-Zeidi) of what would have happened to him had he thrown his shoes at Saddam, and then just let him go.

Pardon him on the one condition that he must stick his head through a hole in a plywood sheet while 500 people in George Bush masks take turns throwing their shoes at him.

Maliki should tell him to write a public, unconditional, and unqualified letter of apology to Pres. Bush, to be published in newspapers in Iraq and America, and that he would read on TV. Nothing should be offered in return, but I am certain that Bush would accept the apology and request his release - and that Maliki would comply.

Hang him upside down by his feet, then whip his feet a thousand times with a cane. Then his request for forgiveness would sound genuine.
