Schwarzenegger For President?
AOL Political Machine ^ | December 22, 2008 | Christopher Weber

In a sprawling interview with 60 Minutes last night, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger dropped a not-so-subtle hint to Republicans: get busy changing the Constitution because Ahnold has his eyes on the White House. Asked by Scott Pelley if he'd like to be president, Schwarzenegger responded in no uncertain terms:

"Yeah, absolutely," Schwarzenegger acknowledged. "I think that I am always a person that looks for the next big goal. And I love challenges. I always set goals that are so high, that are almost impossible to achieve. Because then, you're always hungry for climbing and climbing. Because it's always interesting. The climb is always interesting. When you get there you just have to pick another goal."

Schwarzenegger was, of course, not born in the U.S.A. so it would take some rule changing before he's able to launch a presidential bid. I'm sure Californians, myself included, would like to see the governor make good on his campaign promise to chip away at the Golden State's epic budget shortfall before he starts looking for a promotion.

He has NO chance of winning the Republican nomination.

Unfortunately, a look at our last nominee for President indicates we need to consider your statement carefully.

Our primary process is BROKEN. Until we fix it, we run the risk of RINO candidates like John McCain and R-nulled continuing to destroy the party.

We have enough natural born RINOS
Thanks anyway, Arnold

(PS: Even though your Austrian birth is verbally understood, at least you know you don’t have to produce a birth certificate to anyone if you do decide to run)

I don’t think California would have been any worse off if they’d just left Gray Davis in there

If we had left Gray Davis in there then the blame for the current situation would fall squarely on him. Instead, what people will remember is that the Republicans are at fault for destroying the state.

I believe changing the Constitution will no longer be necesary for him now. President-to-be Hussein has probably already effectively nullified that particular provision and that will become officialat some point in his reign.

A few months ago, I, along with many other freepers pointed out that if the birth certificate thing is ignored and obama is - in fact - not a natural born citizen, then it opens the door to every RINO and two-bit, tinhorn dictator in the whole world.

You might note too that the rule doesn't - to my knowledge - require a candidate to even speak English...so we could end of with Osama Bin Laden as president following Obama Bin Lyin'.

It is a trick to change the Constitution so that Obama will qualify. If they’re gonna go after a rules change and implement amnesty, why not back date the changes a bit and retroactively give Kenyan Zero a clear pass?

“the 1952 Immigration Laws,”

Now I see how it’ll be overturned. They’ll claim it is racist because it was ratified during the racist fifties.

Does he have any idea how LONG it takes to change the Constitution? Or any idea how complex it is for a Constitutional Amendment?

No of course not! He has no ideas about anything. He's a fool, a buffoon, and well I just can't put any more adjectives into use here.

Arnold doesn't realize the rest of the country isn't as stupid as the state of California. Besides, his election in 2003 was a fluke. Without the recall, he would not have been governor. He could never have won in a Republican Primary. He did win reelection because people were even more afraid of the Democratic Candidate.

Go away Arnold, go away please! Go away Arnold, please go away!

Although my answer is a resounding NO, but now is a good time for him to announce this. The media can and will bite on this hard and because he will run as a republican, they will say that he is not eligible. Arnold at least has the nuts to call the press out on this same subject in regard to obama, where as ZERO republicans in the House or Congress has yet to do so.

Who was Obama's key supporter from the Senate early-on? Who is Arnold married to?

Arnold is just a pawn in all these machinations. They will use his personal ambition against the Republican Party.

I’m not a fan of Arnold, either. In 2003, I asked two people, who live in California, to vote for St. Sen. Tom McClintock, in the recall election. Both of them voted for Arnold, and, about a year later, both of them said that they should have voted for McClintock.

If immigrants could become president, Sen. Mel Martinez would be a better president than Arnold.
