Blagojevich questioning takes up Obama's time
Associated Press / International Herald Tribune ^ | December 24, 2008

WASHINGTON: President-elect Barack Obama has said all along that neither he nor his team were involved in any dealmaking with the governor of Illinois over filling his vacated Senate seat. On Tuesday, Obama's hand-picked investigator agreed.

"Everybody behaved appropriately," declared Greg Craig, Obama's incoming White House counsel and the person asked to conduct the internal inquiry into contacts between the transition team and Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Prosecutors have said Obama is not implicated in the case against Blagojevich, accused of trying to sell Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder. But the corruption scandal has drained precious energy from Obama's preparations to take over the White House.

In addition to the time Craig devoted to the internal review that Obama requested, the topic also has surfaced at news conferences intended to highlight key appointments and policy priorities. And Obama himself had to sit down last week in Chicago for an interview by federal investigators, Craig's report revealed. Accompanying him was lawyer Robert Bauer, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

Federal investigators last week also interviewed two top Obama aides, incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. Though Craig completed his review more than a week ago, Obama delayed making it public until those interviews were finished and U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald gave his team the go-ahead to put it out.

I love the headline. Obama is so busy saving the country (when not showing off his pecs walking on the beach in Hawaii) that he must not be distracted by investigations of Democratic corruption.

Darn.
Those confounded criminal investigations can be so time consuming.
How dare they waste his valuable time!

Are they interrupting his golf game, or was it during his partially nude photo-shoot?

A few years ago, the same Rat Rags were calling for disbanding Ken Starr's investigation
because he was distracting Bubba.

Tell the truth and you don’t have to figure out how to match the lies.

Most of these articles seem to be written to confuse the reader into thinking that the US Attorney agrees with Zero’s internal report. Journalist don’t write this stuff by accident.

LOL! Jennifer Loven writes another "hard-hitting" investigative piece on Obama.

The whole tone of the article is that of a person speaking R-E-A-L-L-Y S-L-O-W-L-Y for the benefit of their literacy-challenged reader, making the point over and over that O-B-A-M-A H-A-D N-O-T-H-I-N-G T-O D-O W-I-T-H A-N-Y O-F T-H-I-S, A-N-D W-E S-H-O-U-L-D Q-U-I-T B-O-T-H-E-R-I-N-G H-I-S O-N-E-N-E-S-S.

Never seen Brett Blackledge's byline before. Perhaps they need new AP mouths to provide His Oneness with the full service AP tongue-baths he's gotten used to...

I am convinced that Fitzgerald’s moves, knowingly (conspiracy?) or unknowingly (foolish?), preempted the conversations between the Illinois Governor and Obama’s associates that would have - if allowed to go on without knowledge of FBI surveillance - directly implicated Obama in a political payoff scandal.
