“”Quantum of Solace” ... villain is an environmentalist fraud who occasionally resembles Al Gore.”

Ha, now I will rent it. Thanks.

I enjoyed the scene where Gort dissolved and the little critters broke out of containment. The commander yells something about out Whiskey Tango Force, (I missed the rest of the line) but I told my son that the initials were WTF and I think it was a subtle substitution.

One was how bad Mama Mia was when it came out.

If it was *THAT* bad, why did it make a ton of money ?

If you are truly interested in a chilling and great film in courage, and one man’s effort to stop Hitler, watch ‘Bonhoeffer: Agent of Grace’. This true story is about Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Klaus von Stauffenberg who tried to blow up Hitler was an honorable and serious man. Having the dimwitted Tom Cruise play him makes the film “Valkyrie” unwatchable.

I haven’t seen “Quantum of Solace,” nor do I intend to. When it’s star said that BO should be the next James Bond, I found another dimwit.

The last time I went to a theater to see a movie was to see “The Perfect Storm” with George Clooney. Since then, the wife and I have been happy to watch the same movies for $5 a shot from Blockbuster.

Looks more they like they just chose movies with particular stars that are liberal, and not on the content of the movies themselves.

I don't go to the movies very often at all because most of their offerings are nothing but garbage, and I buy very few DVD's for the same reason. Last week on a whim, though, I bought Wall-E. One of the BEST animated movies I've ever seen. If you haven't seen it yet, please do so! It is simply wonderful!

I liked QofS because the environmentalist was a bad guy! ;)

Also....for those who wondered abut Holmes not starring in DK....her hubby and church was against it so she was not 'allowed' to be in the film....

Cloverfield was creepy and kinda cool....I didnt have a problem with it. You knew what you were getting into beforehand....

The only reason the reviewers are putting “Valkrye” down is because the plan fails and Hitler lives. Funny how people still went to see “Titanic” eventhough everyone knows that the ship sinks in the end.

I'm not sure who was smoking what kind of crack when they made that replacement.

I believe Katie Holmes turned down the reprise on Dark Knight and accepted Mad Money (number 8 on this list) instead.

What I can never figure out about the movie biz is how so much money is spent to essentially create a back shelf dvd for a video store. What a waste.

It’s amazing, isn’t it?

The Hollywood that makes fun of nuns and insults Christians now brings us the kindler, gentler Nazi.

I agree with you about “Valkyrie”.

No one, other than movie critics, has seen the movie. From what little I have read, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of historical revisionism in it.

I’m gonna go see it - no matter what the critics say.

Just because it makes a lot of money doesn’t mean it’s any good. Lots of crappy entertainment makes money, mass appeal is the path to money, quality is often at odds with mass appeal. ABBA was a very popular band, atrocious in every way but popular, building an insipid musical around their crappy music is a pretty good way to make money. But it’s still a stupid story wrapped around bad music, and worse by having the actors sing they got rid of the only part of ABBA that was remotely worthwhile (they could sing, they sang stupid lyrics in front of bad music, but at least they could sing, something Streep and Brosnin cannot).
