Police say one of two young boys beaten severely in an attack in a Phoenix park has died.
Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson says 7-year-old Jesse Ramirez died early Friday of his injuries. .. His cousin, 10-year-old Edwin Pellecier, remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
Police arrested 36-year-old Jose Sauceda Gallegos within hours of the attack. Thompson says additional charges will be added to the child abuse and dangerous crimes against children charges he faces. ...

I dont know whether he is an illegal. What I do know is that when immigration status is not mentioned, the answer is usually yes, illegal.
Some children are born to savages and they exist only to get killed. That was their purpose in life, to get brutally mangled.
In this case it doesn’t appear he was illegal, what he is is Schizophrenic and should not have been released from a mental facility.... according to blogs on AZFamily.com neighbors said about six months ago he called police to say he had killed his two children — the same age as these boys; he had not, in fact his children live in Colorado with their mother, in his crazy delusion he must have thought these boys were his children... The Arizona mental health system bears a lot of responsibility for turning this sick individual loose on his neighbors.
The tell-tale clues aren’t there in this article and the article linked below.
They list an uncle as Saucedo and the perp as Gallegos. I know that family name has a large presence in New Mexico. Neither name is hyphenated. And the Phoenix papers have begun making immigration status an issue in their reports of criminal activity.
Chances are fairly good that Gallegos is a citizen, or at least, a legal immigrant.

Police said video from a surveillance camera mounted on a house across the street from the park showed the boys walking toward the park, followed a minute later by a man carrying an object that looked like a bat. The occupant of the house said the man looked like his neighbor, Gallegos.
An uncle of Gallegos, Joe Sauceda, told police that he believed Gallegos had been diagnosed as a schizophrenic. The uncle also said Gallegos had told authorities about six months ago that he killed his sons in his attic, but police never found any such victims at the house. Gallegos’ sons live with their mother in Colorado and are the same ages of the boys who were attacked.

Investigators who went to Gallegos’ house noted that he appeared nervous and that his appearance was similar to that of the man in the surveillance video. Police also said Gallegos had an odor of chlorine on his hands and stains that appeared to be blood on his shoes.
Gallegos, who was cited for misdemeanor assault in October for a fight at a restaurant, was arrested for not showing up for a court date. He was then booked on assault charges after a search of his house turned up the shirts and an aluminum baseball bat.
He declined to talk further with investigators.
Joe Sauceda, the suspect’s uncle, told police that he believed Gallegos had been diagnosed as a schizophrenic.

Our relaxed confinement laws since the 70s have contributed more to tragedies like this and to so many incoherent babbling bums on the streets.
I think that this is more an article about the criminally insane walking our streets, instead of being locked safely away...

Some people will be horrified, but I think that people like this guy who committ heinous crimes should be tried, convicted for first degree murder and executed. Most people have no idea of the misery chronic schizophrenics subject family members and neighbors to because of a flawed mental health system. Chronic paranoid schizophrenics are repeatedly committed to inpatient psychiatric units when they are experiencing a psychotic episode. That period of committment may vary from state to state, but while they are detained they are forced to take psychotropic medication.
After a brief period the medication returns them to a lucid state. They then have a hearing and are able to respond rationally to the questions of the official who presides over these procedures. Then they are then released and returned to the community.
Invariably they take the necessary medication for a period of time and then refuse to take it any longer. They then repeat the cycle. Families are terrorized, people are murdered and maimed by schizophrenics who refuse to continue taking medication.
I believe that there is premeditation involved in the murders committed by these people, since they deliberately stop taking the meds and as this guy did, deliberately committ murders. I worked in the system for thirty years. I have heard the arguments against “warehousing” mentally ill patients in state hospitals. Many of those hospitals that held chronically ill patients were closed and we then saw the homeless sleeping under bridges, on side walks and in doorways.
Who is responsible for this? Liberals. Radical leftists. The same idiots who are destroying the educational systems, the criminal justice systems and the country. How many more atrocities will these liberal idiots be permitted to subject the nation to before we wake up?

Maybe because they weren’t drunk,crazy or going around killing innocent people?
Schizophrenic - but he had the presence of mind to clean himself up - with bleach - after the attack.
