2009 calendar: Sarah Palin is most wanted
The Telegraph ^ | 12/31/2008

Sarah Palin has continued her quest for world domination with a 2009 calendar that has become a surprising bestseller.

After a rollercoaster year that saw her fail in her US vice-presidential bid but become instead a grandmother and internet phenomenon, the Alaska Governor's 2009 calendar has emerged as the most popular office product on Amazon.com over the festive period.

The calendar, which features 50 candid photos of Mrs Palin, 44, hunting and hanging out with her family, is selling at $15.95 (£11).

Created by Judy Patrick, the former deputy mayor of Wasilla, Alaska - where Mrs Palin was mayor from 1996 to 2002 - John McCain's would-be Veep is pictured with a gun on the cover of the calender, a move that is guaranteed to further endear her to her ultra-conservative fanbase.

With Mrs Palin unlikely to stray too far from the limelight, and rumoured to be considering her own run for the presidency in 2012 it may well turn out that the $290,000 (£194,000) that was spent on her clothing, grooming and cosmetics during her two-month tilt at the vice-presidency may come in useful again.

While Mrs Palin was the surprise calendar hit across the pond, the usual suspects were faring well in the UK. Among Amazon.co.uk's best-selling calendar's of the festive season were a 16-month organiser for busy mums and Page 3 girl Keeley Hazell's 2009 offering .

Other perennial favourites include the legendary Pirelli calendar, this year shot by Peter Beard, known for his wonderful African wildlife shots and his portraits of beautiful barely-clad women, and the Lavazza calendar, this year shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Agreed....All in all it was only a big old “My Friends”-athon
with a reach-across-the aisle weakness thrown in for good measure.Meanwhile,in the big-cajones section,Sarah not-so-plain-but-tall was knockin’them dead with her Reganesque style. It’s a wonder he didn’t get a sunburn from the super-white-hot light that shone aronud Sarah. It was truly cold, dark and lonely where he was.
Sarahlution is the solution! Revolution!!!!

Carol Kennedy is, an empty headed ditz with the personality of a snail.

Yabbut, din't you get the memo? The Kennedys were annointed 'royalty' by the media back when Huntley and Brinkley were reading the lies, and they never had their gaga factor revoked. Even Teddy got a pass for just being a bad driver and a 'good swimmer', even though people were outraged and disgusted then.

Of course, the annointing committee, self selected by the talking heads on the tube and keyboard pounders elsewhere, are absolutely mortified that some upstart commoner who would dare deign to intrude on the lavish lawn of the annointed, much less the front yard.

Every skank, druggie and deviate who writes a book is praised by the same lot as "courageous", while a 40-something and still attractive mother of 5 who has broken the glass ceiling and done all 'womyn' claim to be 'equal at'--plus keep her marriage going and raise a family--is villified.

Interesting how much they hate what.

The only reason you hear her described as a “failed candidate for the bid” despite so many others running in years past? We’re still paying attention to her. The others, they just faded away.

I actually think it will do her good. She’s still in the public eye.

I cannot remember ANY losing (not FAILED) VP candidate that has continued to get this much attention post election.

I keep asking myself this day after day, and I keep coming back to the same thing, they must be truly scared to death of and want to destroy her. Why has none of this died down yet? I really figured by now all would be focused on the coronation of Obama. Maybe after he gets in things will die down.

I still don’t know if all this attention helps by her name staying out there or hurting her b/c the MSM is continuing to feed the sheeple the negativity.

“Is it just me or is SP the only VP candidate in history who has endlessly to be described as a failed candidacy?”

Wouldn’t it be great if every time Al Gore’s name came up (which is about twenty times a day), they called him “failed presidential candidate Al Gore”?

Given the extreme bias of the MSM, I would support the Fairness Doctrine if it applied to the MSM.

Do you really think complaints about left-wing bias will go anywhere but the closest garbage can? That's not how the Gramscian filth operates. The Fairness Doctrine is guaranteed to be applied in a very precise manner against Rush Limbaugh and other conservative commenters ONLY.

It’s not just that MSM can’t talk about her in positive terms, it’s that they go so far afield to be negative. Earlier poster mentioned Reagan’s failed bid for the nomination. But note, he wasn’t going for the VP nomination; Almost nobody in the past has called the VP bid “failed,” including Thomas Eagleton.

For Pete’s sake, they’re not even calling McCain’s bid “Failed.”

The word choice, vice “unsuccessful,” is appalling.
