Samar Hamdan ran weeping through the street, trying to touch the body of her dead 11-year-old brother during a funeral procession in this northern Gaza town.
Just a day before, the 15-year-old girl's two sisters were also buried, victims of the same strike from an Israeli missile.
As Israel steps up its attacks on the Hamas rulers of the Gaza Strip, one of the most densely populated spots on Earth, children are paying the price.
"In this crowded strip, everything is beside everything else," said Karen Abu Zayd, a top U.N. official in Gaza.
Israel says it is only targeting Hamas militants and the rockets they send streaking into southern Israel. More than 400 Palestinians have been killed in the strikes, many of them members of the Islmaic militant group's security forces.

Where’s the geez-not-this-shit-again guy?
Thats what they do, use the children as reservists.
Has this woman made an appearance yet?
Unless you’re thinking of a different photographer whose forged work I’m unfamiliar with, he worked for Reuters.
Noteworthy how (most) journalists completely ignore the Israeli deaths caused by Hamas rockets fired from Gaza. And they also ignore the fact that since the Israeli retreat from Gaza a couple years ago Hamas has used it as a rocket-launching pad. And they ignore Hamas' stated goals/intentions of annihilating Israel. Why? Because many western journalists are rooting on the jihadis.
“”In this crowded strip, everything is beside everything else,” said Karen Abu Zayd, a top U.N. official in Gaza.”
That’s complete BS. Gaza has lots of open farming area (mostly tree groves). The real problem is that Hamas embeds itself into the civilian population, like a tick.
His name was Adnan Hajj. Since “hajj” is the Arabic word for the pilgrimage that good Muslims must make to Mecca at least once in their lifetimes, it’s probably an alias.

That's a shame. Keep killing the Hamas leaders until the rocket attacks are denounced, stopped and prosecuted by the palestinian leadership. If Hamas wives and children are killed in the process, so be it. Enough hiding behind the skirts of the AP and Rueters. I wouldn't shed a tear if the Israelis took out a few of them either.
Well then there's hope that a few of you UN a**holes will get whacked, too.

“I wouldn’t shed a tear if the Israelis took out a few of them either.”
No kidding. The journalists (and I use the term loosely) are fair game given they are active supporters of the bad guys and serve as their propaganda wing. It’s akin to taking out Josef Goebbels in Nazi Germany (pity no one got to him, though he ended up offing his family and then himself, so I guess better late than never).
Having lost two children the day before, did it ever occur to the parents to get the hell away from Hamas?
OK, 34 children and 17 women have been killed in Gaza. How many Israeli children and women have been killed from rockets out of Gaza?
