The Bush Legacy - gifting Obama with a Muslim world rejecting jihad

The latest NIC Global Trends 2025 Report is out… and it’s not good news for those determined to insure the Bush legacy is portrayed as one consisting of nothing but of utter failure.

Download the 120 pg, 8.2MB report here

I had summarized for Larry Weisenthal here just a few days ago… as well as blogged about it on my old haunt Sea2Sea back in February 2008… PLUS Wordsmith’s post May 29th here on FA… about what? There’s been more than a few of us becoming aware that one of the side benefits of the Iraq war was the decline of jihad in the eyes of modern Muslims. And this can only be construed as good news.

But still, despite events - and having few reporters willing to go out on the limb to report the unthinkable (a Bush success??) - the MSM and world proclaim that jihad movements and their recruiting are increasing in strength and numbers.

This report dashes hope of that ringing anywhere close to truth. Yet as of this new report’s release? So far, only the Washington Times has picked up on it with their op-ed today, Al Qaeda’s Demise.

Die hard Bush haters and a Democrat party, determined to take credit for events they opposed at every turn, are not going to be pleased with the NIC report.

On page 69 of the report (89 of the downloaded PDF linked above):

Why al-Qa’ida’s “Terrorist Wave” Might Be Breaking Up

As al-Qa’ida celebrates its 20th birthday, most experts assert that the struggle against it will continue indefinitely, the so called “long war.”

Other experts who have studied past “waves” of terrorism believe that al-Qa’ida is an “aging” group by terrorist standards and suffers from strategic weaknesses that could cause it to decay into marginality, perhaps shortening the lifespan of the Islamic terrorist wave.

I view the struggle in a different light. In spite of the constant barrage of Islam hating bashing here, I know most is pure drivel.

There is a major class of Arabs and Muslims never, that is never ever, mentioned. These are the well educated, American educated young men, now in their late 30’s and early 40’s men who are assuming control of the businesses founded by their grandfathers and fathers and uncles. While Muslim and even maybe devout, thes don’t cotten to the radical clap-trqp. The main reason is that business trumps fanaticism. There is no desire to munch dates and drink camel milk. Life is far better in an air conditioned villa than a black tent.

We know little or nothing of life in Saudi Arabia, real life, not the antiIslam propaganda. These young men know the score. They have lived in America and know well the good and the bad. Home though is the Gulf. There they are working diligently to build a life and business for themselves and their families.

Dubai and Bahrain is where to look to see the progress. They are building the tallest building in the world. We see the opulence, but the day in day out megatrade within the Jebel Ali Free Trade zone is mostly unknown. Their grasp and utilization of world trade for their own benefit is never noted in the press.

W killed Saddam. He sent Tommy Franks to conquer Baghdad. Baghdad..... he conquered the old as dirt fertile crescent metropolis. The young Arabs are not dummies. They know the significance of this act. They will act to use the results to grow their businesses.

In the final analysis...... business rules
