Jesika Kelsey was found by her mother on Jan. 1, stabbed to death in the bedroom she shared with Steven in a Highland Township mobile home. The two lived there with their mother and stepfather.
At Steven’s arraignment, Detective Lt. James A’Hearn of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit testified that Steven told them, “I got a knife and I killed her.”
A’Hearn said Jesika was stabbed once in the neck and once in the eye.
“Steven further stated that Jesika was in pain after the initial assault so he attempted to make a direct thrust into her brain by stabbing her in her right eye,” A’Hearn said.
He also said Steven told investigators he attempted to have sex with his sister as she was dying.

I agree with you. The only 'good' thing about this guy being sentenced to life in prison is that he will be raped repeatedly. Ultimately, he will likely either take his own life or be stabbed to death with a sharpened toothbrush.
I do wonder why liberals think life in prison is more 'merciful' than the death penalty.

As it turns out I mistakenly attributed the comment below to “lean” instead of the “reporter”. The comment was so illogical and emotional that I thought it was some type of vanity post instead of a new story. Apologies to lean.

Psych eval of all recruits? Even a standardized questionaire. It wouldn’t catch your polished sociopath of course.
Have a look at their Facebook or Myspace before they clean it up? Talk with their high school teachers and coaches?
I have personal experience with a recruiter encouraging a potential recruit to lie about past history. He’d invested a lot of time and was trying to make that monthly quota.
Someone who would kill his sister and rape her bleeding body almost certainly had “previous issues.”

I’d rather have about 2 or 3 beefy dudes with 2x4s.

The title is not a misprint. Disturbing.
I am appalled by this person’s actions and at the same time I am getting appalled by the media’s obsession and constant harping on his being on leave after basic training. I don’t even consider that bit of information relevant to the story, yet the media must ensure that they continually mention it.
Are we supposed to assume that basic training teaches normal adolescents how to be murdering rapists?
How terrifying for this poor girl.
May she rest in peace.
This is a premium example of why we need to re-instate the death penalty in this state.
