Karl Rove wrote Let's Be Worthy of Their Sacrifice in the Wall Street Journal on 2 Jan 2009. He closed with this thought , May the New Year bring safety to all who wear our country's uniform, success in the missions they so passionately believe in, peace and comfort to their families, and reunion with all whom they love.
First AAR of the New Year and as you can tell from the accompanying pictures the Goracle was warming up some other part of the world.
Larry McCan, a lifer of fifteen years, was waiting for his squeeze to pick him up. He was wounded during dismounted patrol in Iraq. As it an IED went off and the next thing he knew he was waking up in the hospital. His head wound resulted in some brain scarring. He has been dealing with seizures and medication helps to control their occurrence. He is optimistic that he will soon be able to return to duty and get his remaining five. So keep him in mind when your conversing with the man upstairs.

At long last last weeks report is up!
We've had too many Chief of Staffs, wounded soldiers and their families and patriots tell us that the wounded really appreciate us being there and that we help with their recovery by having them know some one cares.
And we've had two WR chaplains stop and bless us. Can't argue their appreciation of our presence at WR.
Real good to see TrueBlackMan up and about. Looks like [Mrs] T and I missed a sweet WR FReep.
[Mr] T
Kudos to all for your continuing devotion to America’s heroes, the defenders of freedom.
Looking forward to a blow by blow of the trooprally’s evening. In the meantime, would appreciate it if BufordP and J.V.’s bro would elucidate their respective choices of smoking materials for the night.
TAXMAN BRAVO ZULU!
Whoa. Kevin has dropped some pounds
He looked and sounded good...some ongoing health problems but optimistic about them.
I heard him on the radio tonight while in a car so no idea whose show it was.
Party Girl here and starting off the New Year right!
Boy is it cold here...you all better come and visit Florida when I go back!
BufordP was enjoying a Vegas 5 Gold from Cigars International while I was had my lips around a Hoya De Monterrey from JR Thompson. Normally I smoke one of the mild cigars from CI but my brother gave me the Monterrey and BufordP insisted that I try it. Indeed, from a dilettante’s point of view, it is a fine cigar.
The 5 Vegas was compliments of JVB. I came to the party empty handed. Doubt I’ll smoke one tonight. One hand to hold a sign, the other hand in my pocket to keep it warm.
Ya’ll are lookin’ good there JVB. Good report. Thanks for one and all. Seems strange not to see “legs” there however. Back on the job TR. You guys can celebrate anniversaries on the job, can’t you? What better place? Kidding. Happy Anniversary. I love to smell a pipe JVB, but cigars are repulsive smelling to me, thanks to an unsavory uncle who smoked them when I was a child. Funny how we hold those childhood memories. Anyway, you guys are heros to this old grammy.
Kevin, I’m so sorry to hear that you are having health issues. I pray that they will all be resolved in short order. When you are well again, keep the weight off. Orders from your grammy.
I’m going to be making up for lost time this weekend. First WR, then Olney, then the Pro-Israeli Rally on Saturday afternoon. Saturday FReeps will be in cold rain. I was hoping for snow because snow bounces off oneself and the posters. Inkjet posters don’t take well to rain. Hopefully the spray matte will help.
[Mrs] T is still recovering and the cold weather really makes her shoulder ache unbearably.
[Mr] T
Tell the Mrs. that I can sympothize about the shoulder. I’ve been down in my left knee. That thing put me on the floor on Dec.19th and I’m just now getting where I can put weight on it. Tendons. I pray that she will get past this bout with the shoulder quickly.
Dittos with your knee. It’s probably tough having a hard time walking than having a bum shoulder. Stay warm.
[Mr] T
BTTT and thanks for the info!
