UN Security Council Resolution on Gaza unanimously accepted by all Council Members

The UN Security Council ceasefire resolution calls amongst other things for;

An immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire to be respected by Israel and Hamas.

An end to arms trafficking through tunnels from Egypt.

A reopening of crossing points to allow unhindered access for aid to Gaza.

End to Israel bombing of Gaza.

The BBC's Laura Trevelyan at the UN says the difficulties arose soon after the US, Britain and France backed down in the face of Arab criticism that only a resolution, not a statement, would do.

Aggressive Arabs, forgive me if I'm wrong, that's exactly what caused this in the first place, now they're demanding a resolution, not a staement on stopping the retaliation for them being aggressive. Something sounds suspect there!

I expected this from our very own Communist, Milliband, but Condoleezaa Rice, only an abstension? dear oh dear oh dear oh dear . . . I assume she had an option of a veto? Whatever happened to a few days ago, and;

Israel has time, this is only the first of at least 287 resolutions before they have to acknowledge anything. ;-)

The U.S abstained. Any one who thinks its enforceable is in denial. Its a piece of paper fit to be thrown in the wastebasket. Hamas will not stop shooting at Israel and the war will go on. Israel was cut out of the discussions in New York. Its completely meaningless. Ceasefire shmeasefire.

I agree that the talking shop of the UN is a dreadful waste of money, and is the most underhanded group of Communist powerful wannabees, BUT, you we should all keep an ear open on them.
With your new socialist leader waiting in the wings, the garbage they pass in there will undoubtedly be used against anyone who doesn't fall inline with their plans.
