A character for sure, but absolutely sane.

The man has a number of rolls to play at this point. And he's doing them brilliantly. This is a Chicago Machine graduate who's using everything he's learned along the way. And he knows who he dealing with both on the state and federal level.

He is simply wallowing in all the attention and he wants it continue as long as possible before the inevitable happens and he's frogmarched off to the hoosegow.

This guy does not want to be frogmarched to prison. The thought must be terrifying to him. If he can can take down bambi and a few chicago thugs, he's going to do it to save his own skin. If he has something "provable" on them he's not going to let them enjoy basking in the glory of being on top while he wallows in federal prison.

“And by the way, there is a bill that is in the Senate that they may want to vote on instead of impeaching me.”

Ah, so the lege can't walk and chew gum at the same time? Or maybe the thought that he could save the trial by resigning? I guess having the kind of honor that Nixon had is beneath him.

They need to get McGreevy and Spitzer to have a good talk with him.

This guy’s so nuts that I’m ready for him to declare martial law and use Illinois National Guard to disband the State Legislature.

He's a perfect example of a pathological NARCISSIST! He is NUTS and has no clue!

Forcing this to impeachment would be the last thing I would do if I was the dems.

They already have. The Illinois House impeached him this morning in a vote of 114-1 with one 'present'. He's been impeached. His Senate trial is slated to begin January 26th.

It's really very simple. Blago is the biggest narcissist ever to hold high elected office in America. He's the American Mugabe.

I dunno about that. I think he's more of a Peron/Mussolini than a Mugabe. And clinton's got him beat by a country mile in narcissism. Well, maybe a block or two, but clinton's still the dysfunction king in my book.

I also sent an email to Shemp. Fox loses all credibility employing this a hole.

I have no clue....sounds like he’s on speed. He’s very irritating......I think he feels like HE is the Messiah....not the Bamster!

Ha ha, I had the definite impression he was on something for sure. Talk about a "high-speed speech!"

All hail Blago!

The guy is off-the-charts on Bill Simmons’ patented “Unintentional Comedy Scale.”

The more I learn of the lack of character, ability, honor, patriotism and intelligence of elected “leaders” in our Republic —— the more contempt I have for our diminished electorate and fear for the survival of the Republic.

Removal from office and a criminal conviction are separate from one another. Acquittal in a criminal trial would no more affect his removal, than would his removal allow for his immediate imprisonment.

I'm not referring to an automatic overturn of his Senate conviction. I'm saying acquittal in a criminal trial, which was predicated on much of the same evidence used in the Senate conviction, could well serve him in seeking having the Senate conviction overturned. It would certainly give him ammunition...

If he is smart; he will nail Obama and the rest.

Not if he continues to go for 7 mile runs, bet money, he'll meet with a timely accident!!! (Chicago Style)

He has more than a clue, and he’s holding a few in the lock box.

Blago is only one cog in the Chicago machine, but right now he’s running the show.

"Hence the bizarre performance we just witnessed. It was pure theater."

Do you know if there will be an online video clip of this? I don't get Fox.

I agree Blago is trying to influence the jury pool by trotting out poor people he has “saved.” Fitzpatrick did the same thing when he announced the charges—went beyond what a prosecutor should say. I picture Blago with a “thought bubble” over his head thinking “This shouldn’t be happening to me—I don’t do anything different than all the other pols in this state”
