Anything that is half lab is bound to be a good dog.
Then they need a Havanese, but the thing about them is one just isn't enough. And no, they may not have either of mine (got one on clearance and the other was a rescue of sorts).
Is this going to be Obama's "wag the dog" move kinda like Clinton sending 90 Tomahawk missiles into al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan to dodge Lewinsky publicity.
At the rate he's going he's sure to have a full fledged crisis by spring!
> If I werent a dachshund person, Id definitely give my heart to a german shepherd puppy to tear.
(BIG GRIN!)(Awwwww!) They’re good at doing that: it’s in their breeding!
Amen to that. I’d be most distressed if he got one of my grey ghosts.
LOL!
This proves how the liberals believe that average people are idiots - “start looking at shelters”. He said this to appease the left which wants to save the unwanted dogs (along with the whales, polar bears, snail darter, owls, and any other animal). Can he honestly believe people are dumb enough to believe this?
We have a Labradoodle. Great dog. $750 from a breeder. You’d never see on in a shelter. I imagine the Obama girls want a puppy which would be even more rare...
According to this site, the Portuguese Water Dog would be $1500+

Really. I’m in the market for a BMW. I keep checking the local Goodwill but to date nobody has donated one yet...
Hey, not just any BMW, a 3 series convertible with AWD.... Oh, and it has to be silver....
The whole “we are socially responsible. so we will be getting our dog from the pound thing is annoying to me. People take a dog to the pound for one reason: Because it no longer has enough value to them to be worth taking care of. Pure bred puppies are very valuable. More so for currently fashionable breeds. Therefore, I very much doubt that there has ever been a purebred labradoodle in a pound. And the Obamas know this quite well. Therefore, the man is begining his relationship with a lie.
Geeze, if they’re really done research they know it’s a Portuguese Water DOG not hound. Additionally, if you have a child with allergies, why would you go with an unknown quantity like any of the doodles. They are mixed breeds and thus can take the characteristics of either parent. I know many doodles who shed as much as my goldens do. I wonder who is doing this man’s research?
I doubt you will find many Porties at shelters (altho they probably have a rescue group), however I suspect you will find MANY of the various doodles in shelters.
Hmmmm now that you mention it, they ARE water dogs.
All I know is our friends adopted a Goldendoodle at our local shelter and he is an amazing dog... truly the best of both breeds. Though these have become “designer” dogs, they were originally bred for people who needed service dogs and had allergies to dogs.
The hounds of hell have been unleashed.
LOL Biden’s dog came from an apparent puppy mill. He clearly did NO research.
LOL! 'Doodles are great dogs, typically (I have a golden-doodle) -- but labradoodles can often be a lot more "stupid lab" than "poodle." A friend's labradoodle made a hobby of destroying furniture when he was bored -- he tore apart three chairs.
The only reason a 'doodle would be in the pound would be because it does stuff like that.
OOOooooh, I really hope they get one -- it would serve them right. Just keep it away from the good furniture.
Did you see the picture of him possed with a white poodle? Someone adopted that dog from a puppy mill, the dog had been badly abused there, lost a leg and the millers had cut it’s vocal cords... this woman adopted the dog and it is an amazing little dog, somehow they got Obama to pose with the dog to advertise adopting special needs dogs and, they claim, he fell for the little dog — certainly the pics showed a side of him I didn’t expect — and it is one reason he is determined to adopt rather than go to a breeder.
Since all of the doodle breeds are essentially mixed breeds, I suspect there are many in the shelters.
That dog belonged to someone else... was a rescue.
