The tax cuts are mostly welfare. There is a modest tax rebate that will have little effect. The Republicans should ridicule the entire plan as pork, welfare, and union handouts.
Rush has it right when he says the Obama proposed tax cut is nothing of the kind. If Republicans are “scurrying” away (an apt description if ever there was one) then they will suffer in the wilderness for a long time. Personally, I’m waiting for the appearance of a viable 3rd party. The Republican party is nearly dead. Latching onto O’s coattails will finish them off.
Obama and the other loons are going to shovel out happy dreams to the sheeple, billions and billions and trillions at a time. Don’t listen to what our booboo says, or pay attention to where he says it at. Watch what this inexperienced flash-in-the-pan does.
It’s all about trying to build a large coalition for that 70% majority. And you know what? I think he could do it, if he can fool enough people for long enough.
He knows this country simply can’t afford the massive expansion of socialism he campaigned on, and he also knows his left-wing base doesn’t have anywhere else to go, so they’ll stick by him while they complain and moan (go to DailyKOS or DU.com to see it happening right now). He’ll try the usual Keynesian tactic of lowered consumer taxes and deficit spending to (hopefully but probably not) “shock” the economy back into growth, and then in his second term, once he feels the economy can take a huge hit, out with the handouts!
