What are these? A THREE-legged stool and a traditional Luo oxtail fly whisk are some of the household items that could bring a new feel to the Oval Office, courtesy of Barack Obama's Kenyan grandmother. Sarah Obama, who at 86 still lives in a modest house in the family's ancestral village of Kogelo, has been packing presents ahead of her grandson's January 20 inauguration as the 44th president of the United States.
Quoted in the Standard newspaper, she said she had hoped to bring him a traditional spear and shield from her Luo tribe when she flies to Washington on Friday with some other family members.
"But I have been told that due to security reasons I will not be allowed to board a plane with it," she explained.
Sarah Obama, the president-elect's step grandmother, has become a national celebrity since the Illinois senator - the Hawaiian-born son of a Kenyan father and white American mother - launched his bid for the White House.
"The day I was waiting for has finally come... I cannot hide my joy," she said. "I am going to be Kenya's ambassador during the occasion and I will live up to the expectations." ......

This feels like a bad dream.
That is so sweet. Imagine her pride, seeing her grandson become one of the world’s most powerful leaders?
I hope she visits the US soon, her heart would glow seeing him in the Oval Office, stool, whisk, spear, or no.
I remember my grandmother’s face when I told her I had a job (my first).
I am glad she loves him so!
He has been talking a lot about stools lately.
Would love to have pics of Obie with his spear and shield.
Not to mention the big cooking pot, the shrunken heads, and the large, ripe missionary.

That’s my feeling, too. I despise Obama for many reasons, but probably the biggest one is that he’s a foreigner with nothing but third-world foreign connections who has somehow been allowed to take over our country. How the heck did this happen?

Wasn’t it Grandma Sarah that was beating her lips that BHO was born in Kenya? The media et al moved as quickly as possible to shut that old black lady up. One granny is dead and the other (God knows what they’re doing to her to keep her quiet).
LOL He will have a copy of the Shahada on the wall of the Oval Orifice? (oh forgot Clinton isn’t president-—maybe it will become the Crescent Office?)

Barack’s father was a bigamist. He has no legal ties to the Obama name. The marriage was not legal.
His last name is his mother’s maiden name (Dunham) or the name from her second marriage (Soetoro).
The press never ran such glowing stories on the grandmother who actually raised him and lived in America.

We do not know who Barack is and those who did know weren’t talking when they could.
It is a bad dream. The only thing I can't figure out is how you all got in my bad dream!?
