Countries that will miss Bush
BBC ^ | 12.13.09 | By Kim Ghattas

A lot has been written about George W Bush's unpopularity around the globe - but what about those places where the outgoing president was popular?

As he leaves office with a record high domestic disapproval rate - 73%, according to an October ABC News/Washington Post poll - President George W Bush can perhaps take some comfort from the fact that this feeling is not uniformly shared abroad.

While the shoe-throwing incident in Iraq may come to symbolise the world's opinion of a president who is often referred to as the worst in America's history, some corners of the world will miss the 43rd president of the United States.

He has approval ratings of around 80% in Africa, according to some polls, and in Kosovo a main street was named after him to thank him for supporting Kosovo's independence.

"It is generally accepted in the US that Bush has generated hatred for America around the world," says Peter Berkowitz, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution.

"But the picture is not black and white," he added.

After four years of Zero’s policies, I have no doubt we’ll be waxing nostalgic over W.

Mr. Negative, thank God not all of us see President Bush as you do!

I am grateful for his service to our country. Arm chair q-backs are so great at saying what they would have done.

President Bush will be known for the good he has done in time... imho.

My ONGOING disapproval rate of LeftMedia propaganda polls is 100%.

Additionally, President Bush is far more highly thought of than their perpetual, lying polls indicate.

Prediction: Zero will achieve 65% “approval ratings” by his first afternoon in office.

Liberal is, as Liberal does.

President Bush, IMO, should have stood up to the mainstream media and Liberal pukes starting the day he took office. That will forever be his mistake. But, I wonder whose popularity would be any different than Bush’s had they been trashed by the MSM on an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis? No one, IMO, could have survived that savagery.

Since the media is in love with their Liberal God and, therefore, will cover up his tyranny, it will be up to American patriots to question his every move and expose his corruption. Payback time.

Wow.

Russia thinks more highly of GWB than does France or Spain. That's surprising.

France must adore its "restless youths" as they burn down the country.

I figure, if a President only pisses me off about 50% of the time, he’s doing pretty good. And Bush is right around that mark.

I figure with Obama it will be in the 80-90% range.

“a president often referred to [by the BBC itself] as the worst in America’s history”

Fixed it.

After 0bama has doubled our debt in 4 years, the people will be begging for someone who can control spending to be in the WH.

I don’t think Bush has the mental armaments to handle himself well in a confrontation and I don’t think he is capable of correctly explaining those positions he correctly assumed.

Beating Kerry or Gore in a debate is no real criterion of intellect.
