Obama inauguration to air in theaters (MSNBC pact puts coverage in 27 U.S. locations)

NEW YORK -- President-elect Barack Obama is on his way to the big screen, thanks to a deal between MSNBC and Screenvision that will put the news channel's inaugural coverage in 27 theaters around the country.

Free tickets are being handed out via MSNBC.com to see the inauguration and parade from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. ET at the 27 theaters run by 11 exhibitor partners in 21 markets. Midday Tuesday isn't necessarily a big movie time, so it helps to fill the theater -- and boost popcorn and soda sales -- at a time when it's not usually busy.

That means that Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and other MSNBC and NBC personalities will play the big movie screen in addition to the usual MSNBC cable and satellite stream. MSNBC won't be in high-definition until the second quarter, but both the channel and Screenvision say the quality will still be high.

"It'll look great," MSNBC president Phil Griffin said. "We're thrilled about it."

I will be tuning out ALL media probably for the whole week as I’m sure they will be covering it every day non-stop. Once they haul off the fake Lincoln set, the U.S. will be left with with they started with — an empty suit.

I saw Whoopie Goldberg at some dinner and she was using the F word liberally and that too was aired. These people are spawn of Sodom and Gemorah.

One Porta Potty for every 6,000 people and the bars will be open 24 hours a day. The Reflecting Pool is going to have bodies floating in half frozen urine. Makes you proud of America doesn’t it Michelle.

Uhhh...5,000 x 6,000 = 30,000,000. Going by what I believe will be the actual turnout (1,000,000), 5,000 porta-potties works out to one per 200 people.

Yea, I haven’t figured that out yet. I imported the video and sound came with it, then I imported sound clips I had on my computer and I stuck them into the video and the volume levels were different and I have not been able to figure out how to adjust that. One wierd thing however is the audio on the video clip with Sarah was louder when it was in the video I clipped it from and I think it was louder before I added the music clips. I don’t know but yes I need to figure that out.

It is dumb I know but at least I feel like I have a small way to fight back. If I don’t find some way to fight back I will lose my mind before the next 4 years is over.

Pray for the sanity of those of us in the Chicago area. I believe I heard a news reader say yesterday that they are starting the coverage of the inauguration this FRIDAY!!

Come see ‘The Amazing, Colossal, Giant Failure’!
It’ll give you tingles up your leg! Fill you with horror and dread! Not for the faint of heart or freedom loving!

(Nurse not on duty in theatre because of evil Republicans.)

Capitalists aren’t so evil when they sell Popcorn and soda pop to apostles of Obama.

But they might be if their theaters get trashed, and they object.

Oh what great news unless you happen to work midday on a Tuesday(to pay taxes for redistribution, etc.).

But that would never occur to anyone at MSNBC.
Don’t know, but perhaps that plus school attendance is why the theaters are empty then as well?

Be very afraid. Those theaters have the potential to be like Paul Reubens at the movies, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

Wouldn’t it be funny to see Chief Justice Roberts whip out that INS record and a subpoenaed BC from the AZ/US AG on the big screen in 27 theaters across the nation?

One can dream. It sure would be good theater.

"Oh what great news unless you happen to work midday on a Tuesday(to pay taxes for redistribution, etc.)"

MSNBC knows that most of Obama's constituency won't be at work or at school.
