Treasury Department Can Help Fight Global Warming, Says Paulson Tuesday, January 13, 2009 By Josiah Ryan, Staff Writer
(CNSNews.com) The U.S. Treasury and other finance ministries around the world should play a major role in fixing climate change, outgoing Bush administration Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Monday at an event sponsored by the environmental group Resources For the Future. The discussion was titled, "How Markets Can Help Address Climate Change and Other Major Environmental Problems."
Paulson, who once served as chairman of the Nature Conservancy and co-chair of the environmental group Asia-Pacific Council, has long been involved in fighting global warming.
I will be actually surprised and disappointed if the Office of Treasury isnt a leader -- probably the leader -- in the government in terms of having more resources and knowledge than any other place, said Paulson, referring to research on alternative energy and climate change.
We need to play a major role going forward, and I think that other finance ministries around the world will need to play a major role, he said. Again, I see it as essential that finance ministries or departments of treasuries have people in place who understand not just the economics but also conservation and the environment.

They are going to print green money.
To: Sub-Driver
Sorry, Paulson. Your idea of using dollar bills as a permanent carbon storehouse won't work because people will soon be burning them as a cheap fuel alternative when your printing presses bring about hyperinflation.

Please - someone stop the insanity. We’re heading for sub-zero temps in Battle Creek. Ahh, but I have heard that has been hitting 100 down there in Christchurch (their summer).

The real American government disappeared a long time ago — we are now in the grip of an incompetent and malfeasant mob of politicos who care NOTHING about this country and have no clue how to run it.
It is all about politics and POWER AND CONTROL.
Nothing else matters, as this absolute incompetent fool has shown us.

What do you mean? Paulson has done more to stop greenhouse gas emission by panicking the economy into a recession than any single person on earth. Had he done his job without a public claim of a meltdown, the economy today would have been producing more including the associated greenhouse gasses. Of course this is not so good if we are in global cooling or if you like having a positive growth, low inflation, low unemployment economy like the one we had before the panicked the public.

“”How Markets Can Help Address Climate Change and Other Major Environmental Problems.”
Those who believe in human caused climate change, are fools.
It is junk science, on par with believing in leprechauns.
It is also another false religion.

Hank Paulson won’t lose any sleep if the middle class disappears. He believes a growing middle class (with our SUVs and air conditioned houses) is bad for the planet. When I’m wearing my tinfoil hat, I think he intentionally precipitated the financial crisis to “save the earth.”

Paulson reminds me of Terry McAuliffe- talks fast and says anything he thinks other people want to hear to get them to write checks.
I bet as a hustler, Paulson could put Bernie Madoff who stole a mere $50 BILLION (chump change) to shame. In fact, Paulson and Bernie should be sharing a jail cell with a guy named “Bruce the Hulk”.
And in further fact, I would envision Paulson as having influence over why Madoff is not in a jail cell. He knows too much.
This was Bush’s choice of a Treasury Secretary?

I pray God, in his goodness, gives us an actual Leader that we can rally around next POTUS election, not some mealy-mouthed, non-communicator “Compassionate-Conservate”, “Big-Tent”, Open-Borders, Amnesty-Pushing RINO.
