Saudi Arabia's most senior Muslim cleric has been quoted as saying it is 'okay' for 10-year-old girls to marry. Sheik Abdul-Aziz Al Sheikh was quoted as saying those who think such girls are too young to marry are doing them an injustice.
Al-Hayat newspaper quotes Sheik Abdul-Aziz Al Sheikh, the country's grand mufti, as also saying during a lecture on Monday that critics who say women should not marry before the age of 25 are following a 'bad path'.
The mufti's comments showed the conservative clergy's opposition to a drive by Saudi rights groups, including government ones, to define the age of marriage and put an end to the phenomenon of child marriages.
'It is wrong to say it's not permitted to marry off girls who are 15 and younger,' Sheik Abdul-Aziz Al Sheikh was quoted as saying.
'A female who is 10 or 12 is marriageable and those who think she's too young are wrong and are being unfair to her,' he said during a Monday lecture, according to the pan-Arab Al-Hayat newspaper.

They are *nuts* for marrying off kids as young as ten but how sane is a society that encourages girls to establish careers and wait until after 30 to start having kids?
And anyone who knows anything at all about their world view ( base on such a bi polar religion) should understand that you can't reason with these people on a Christian or even a "humanist" level.
Human life means precious little to these people.
That is certainly worth repeating!
Can you imagine a religion which promotes and encourages the most base desire of men; so much so, they promise the reward of "72 virgins" to any Muslim willing to kill non Muslims in defense of their religion?
Only a person with a warped sense of values, or a certified coward is even capable of thinking these people can be "good neighbors" or productive citizens within any society that does not subscribe to their religion.
Women are for babies, not pleasure. If they can reproduce at 10, then they should. The devil is in the room with them when a man and woman are alone together.
That’s the mentality that we are dealing with.
