Activism - Help restore WA State legal permanent residents 2A rights.

WA State citizens and legal permanent residents, us green card holders need your help!

Please contact the members listed and ask them to support HB1052.

The bill goes to them on the 22nd of January 2009.

This bill restores the 2nd A rights of green card holders under the 14th equal protection clause...

WA State is the only state that denies legal permanent residents 2A rights in all of the 50 States.

Please Help

Why should green card holders have 2nd amendment protection?
Like the ones caught growing dope for MS-13/Mexican drug cartels in our national forests and parks? YES, they had legal green cards.

Nobody said liberty was guaranteed safe.

You realize you are making pretty much the same argument that antis do against law abiding gun owners, right?

Non citizens have exactly the same rights in this country that citizens do, less the right to vote. The 2A applies to them as well.

The Washington law also does not say foreign nationals cannot own guns. As I understand it - it’s simply a way of making sure we’re not handing over the keys to the kingdom.

It’s a violation of the First Amendment to censor a blog written by a legal resident alien, to compel him/her to belong to a particular church, or to deny him/her the right to religious expression.

It’s a violation of the Third Amendment to quarter troops in the home of a legal resident alien.

It’s a violation of the Fourth Amendment to kick in the door of the residence of a legal resident alien without a warrant.

It’s a violation of the Fifth Amendment to torture a legal resident alien as part of an interrogation, or to subject him/her to cruel and unusual punishment.

Hmmm, looks to me as though the Bill of Rights apply just as much to legal resident aliens in this country as it does to U.S. citizens.

Are you seriously arguing that legal resident aliens should NOT have equal protection under the Bill of Rights? Or were you just playing devil’s advocate?

Before any alien is given 2nd amendment rights, they need to be vetted. THAT isn’t happening.
Do these resident aliens now have that right in all states but Washington?

YES they do.

I can personally attest that I have had background checks in the for the following:

Local - Whitman County WA
Federal
Interpol
RCMP - British Columbia Canada
UK

I also hold a WA State concealed pistol license, issued by my local Sheriff.

When I do a NICS background check, NICS via the FBI does an IAQ check, that is an Illegal Alien Query.

My wife and I, and several thousand Legal Permanent Residents pass these checks.

We’re also 17 months away from US citizenship, and we are pursuing it ASAP.

I’ve been working with my local and other state representatives for a few years now to get this issue cleared up.

I apologize if my last post sounded harsh.

It’ll happen regardless of what we do or do not. WA liberal persistent RAT-dominated legislature & governors have already given illegals free health care and education. They’ll give anything free to anyone if keeps them in power. That’s why WA is and will always remain BLUE because of the liberal leftists RATS from King and Pierce Counties who dominate the politics. Explains why Fraudoire stays in power as governor, & the legislature stays in demoncRAT hands.

Well, good luck to you. My problem is that USCIS doesn’t vet everyone ‘equally’. Last year they pushed through 30,000 applications with no review...they lost them, so they just approved them. Yet, good applicants seem delayed to death.

The real irony here is that Mexico is demanding we do away with the 2nd amendment because their citizens are bringing the guns back to Mexico and causing ALL their crime.

Funny thing about Mexico, article 10 of the Mexican Constitution is their equivalent, with restrictions, to the US 2nd... maybe they should even the odds and adopt a US style 2nd... Let the average Mexican citizen clean up their gang problems.

Should a state do any more vetting than what the federal government is supposed to do before issuing a Green Card?

They won't be drafted in time of war. They can't hold many elected offices. They may not be eligible for certain professions or licenses. They can't say the pledge of allegiance (and mean it). They can be evicted from the country for a variety of reasons. They can be refused entry for a variety of reasons. They can't get security clearances. They can't work on or have access to computer source code that contains 'hard' encryption. And in Washington State they can't own guns.

Citizenship is *not* some small technicality, it's a big freaking deal.

Federal law requires that men who are at least 18 years old, but not yet 26 years old, must be registered with Selective Service. This includes all male non-citizens within these age limits who permanently reside in the United States. Men with "green cards" (lawful permanent residents) must register. Men living in the United States without USCIS documentation (undocumented aliens) must also register. But men cannot register after reaching age 26.

Update on WA State Resident Alien Firearms Rights...

#1 Judge sided with first NRA case, injunction issued, now judge needs to sign it, and DOL need to “get off the pot” maybe literally on that one.. ya never know.

DOL shall “promptly issue Alien Firearms Licenses”... they say March, that is not prompt enough...

#2 HB1052 to be heard Jan 29, sounds good so far, I’ve been called by most of the Judiciary members or their underlings, they want it done ASAP

#3 NRA case 2 is in August, sees if WA will drop LPR’s requirement for AFL, as it is a breach of 14th amendment, as LPRs are “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof”...

And now, Amendment 14 Section #1
