It still is doable.

I think we can agree that RINOs were not up to the task.
We had few conservatives out there this time, and it took Reagan years to be up to the task himself.

This is where folks like Palin and Jindal come in.
We have to start promoting people years ahead of time.
Not pull a Fred Thompson out at the last minute and say, there is your conservative!
We didn’t have anyone in the election hopper soon enough, we were distracted by the war and democrat betrayal of the troops I think.

So the media put their pet republican into the hopper for us.

We cannot allow that to happen again.

Of course all this is based on the republican party being capable of returning to championing conservatism.

“We have to start promoting people years ahead of time.”

absolutely.

“Not pull a Fred Thompson out at the last minute and say, there is your conservative!”

yes.

“This is where folks like Palin and Jindal come in.”

I am tending towards the idea that they destroyed palin in just 3 weeks. huge numbers of ordinary Americans already see her with suspicion. And they had NOTHING to work with. Palin is a very decent person. And yet from nothing, they destroyed her. I strongly believe we have to stop underestimating the power the left has now. We only just scraped 2004. They could flood America with dem voters over the next 8 years.

Jindal is interesting because he’s a minority, he’s harder to destroy. But that doesn’t address the long-term issues

NBC’s nose is up his colon so far that they have become a laughingstock.

You're correct. I've been trying to make people understand that the Left owns the Media and the Universities trains them to think too the left before they are hired by the media.

The Progressives (socialists) set their sights to be in control and the founders of Progressivism would be proud of their followers now.

See, the difference in them and us, they believe in their cause.

“I wonder how long the MSM can keep up the 24/7 Obamathon?”

I remember that they managed it everyday for eight years under Clinton. That is one of the best things about President Bush. He wasn’t in our face every single day.

I agree, though

"the difference in them and us, they believe in their cause."

I think it's more that (a) they go for government/media jobs while conservatives would rather do something productive (b) they operate strict blacklists/whitelists without getting caught doing so, and would NEVER promote a conservative (c) they have a lot of people who don't work, who can make it seem like they have more people than they do

We believe in our cause. But we're also all-too willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. We need to appreciate we are in a war. One side is going to win all, and one side is going to lose all and will be eliminated in the end, just like ANY war.

The three network morning shows on Friday almost totally skipped any coverage of President Bush's farewell address to the country on Thursday

They are in denial.

They just can't handle the fact that Bush is leaving and we are stuck with Present Obama.

I don't necessarily disagree with your statements, but Sarah Palin is not destroyed.

They (and the GOP) will continue to marginalize her and get her off of the national scene, but they can never destroy her.

She is a solid conservative who will continue to be relevant to the political cycle for years to come.

The more they attack her, the stronger she becomes.

There is far too much division among the Conservatives. Until that ends, we'll get no where.

Liberals do not eat their own in public “UNLESS” they believe they are not worth protecting anymore. Look at the Blago drama, they've backed off.

If that were a Republican, Sean and others would be screaming for them to go on a daily basis.

This gives the media lots of mileage that helps them to increase the division within the GOP/Conservatives,which has weakened the GOP to the point of disarray.
