While the nation's capitol buzzes with inaugural fever, party crasher Nancy Pelosi has used the air waves to demand prosecuting the outgoing president. She's at odds with her party's leader and the President-elect, again.
"I don't believe that anybody is above the law," Obama said in a recent television interview. "On the other hand, I also have a belief that we need to look forward, as opposed to looking backwards."
But there was Pelosi, on the eve of the Inaugural, harping over an investigation she wants started into whether the Bush administration broke the law when it fired a group of federal prosecutors.
"I think that we have to learn from the past, and we cannot let the politicizing of, for example, the Justice Department, go unreviewed," she said. "Past is prologue."
Really. The most recent Democrat president, Bill Clinton, fired the entire lot of federal prosecutors a few days after taking office.
But why now at this historic moment, on the weekend before the inauguration of her party's president.
House Democrats last week recommended a criminal investigation to determine whether administration officials broke the law in the name of national security. Along with the fired prosecutors, the report cited interrogation of foreign detainees, warrantless wiretaps, retribution against critics and manipulation of intelligence.
It's clear Speaker Pelosi has basked in the national spotlight.
She apparently can't face the reality of politics in D.C. Once Barack Obama is sworn into office, the house speaker will fade into the background.
Barack Obama isn't just another new president.
He brings a multi-million person grassroots force with him into the office.
Pelosi, on the other hand, has been elected by a couple hundred thousand San Franciscan voters. Her Republican opponent received up 10% of the vote, and Cindy Sheehan (you remember her) received 16% of the vote. Madame Speaker only received 70% of the vote. Then there's Congress' high approval ratings --- 15%.
She has only a few more hours to hold the reigns of power. Then it moves again to the White House.
Forgot that gem. Thanks.
Nine percent Nancy needs to keep the BDS cargo cult going.
Why?
Nancy needs the shrieking from the BDS cargo cult to continue so she and the rest of the Corruptocrats can hide behind it.
Why not encourage her to keep blabbering?
Oh? And what is the color of the sky on the planet where you live?
Every time I see his "jug-handled" visage and hear is "um-un-ah" syncopated delivery, I'm ready to throw a shoe at my big screen! He da*n well is ANNOYING and has been since he started his two year run for the Presidency.
His carriage, his appearance, his manner of speech, his articulated beliefs, not to mention his choice of friends can be described as nothing except annoying. His disregard for the Constitution and 233 years of established precedent in governing this land is way up the list of things that wizz me off. I could go on but why bother...trust me on this, as time rolls along some three hundred million Americans will have plenty to be annoyed about.
Regards,
GtG
He brings a multi-million person grassroots force with him into the office.
That's a scary sentence:
Adolf Hitler isn't just another new president.
He brings a multi-million person grassroots force with him into the office.
The Lord loves a hangin'... (with apologies to Ren & Stimpy)
She holds a Constitutional office ~ the Logan act (which is never enforced) would never be extended to the Speaker of the House.
