Obama: ‘Government can only do so much’
The Hill ^ | 1/19/09 | Klaus Marre

President-elect Obama, who last week said that only the government could save the economy, on Monday said that the solution to all problems can’t be found in Washington.

“Government can only do so much,” he said at an event with volunteers. “And if we’re just waiting around for somebody else to do it for us, if we’re waiting around for somebody else to clean up the vacant lot or waiting for somebody else to get involved in tutoring a child, if we’re waiting for somebody else to do something, it never gets done.”

Obama stressed the importance of personal responsibility, a theme he is expected to repeat during his Inaugural address Tuesday.

The president-elect urged Americans to volunteer and help improve their country. He participated in renovating a youth shelter earlier in the day and his wife Michelle and Vice President-elect Biden and his wife also took part in volunteering projects.

This guy's rhetoric is simply all over the place. Lack of core beliefs will do that to you.

Let me finish that thought,

” “Government can only do so much... that`s why I`m creating an army of obamaites to do my bidding. We`ll call it something non confrontational like the USA Volunteer Club or something but they`ll be just like Chavez`s red shirts in reality and intimidate political opposition, spy on neighbors, turn in parents, etc.”

Of course one who politically promotes more "for the people" than "by the people" would make such a statement.

Agree. Obama quotes the last thing he either read or heard.

Note from Obama to the millions of sheeple who thought I was "the chosen one," and could do it all, change everything (like I promised and you stupidly believed):

Ha, ha fooled ya! I am just another do-nothing, crafty politician - and worse yet, wait till you see how lazy I really am. Heck, I have never accomplished anything worthwhile but write books about myself and you picked me to run your country.

"Obama stressed the importance of personal responsibility, a theme he is expected to repeat during his Inaugural address Tuesday."

Of course, there will be no MSM mention of the fact that this mirrors W's address from 8 years ago. That's not change, it's more of the same!
