TORONTO - Barack Obama appears to come by his nickname honestly.

Despite stepping into the U.S. presidency at perhaps the most difficult juncture in decades, No Drama Obama seems as unruffled - and as youthful - now as he did nearly two years ago when he announced he was seeking the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

Except, that is, for the small matter of his hair.

Since last summer, Obama's once jet-black hair has gone grey at a startling clip.

Is this a bit of lese-majeste , to intimate that That One might not be free from the stresses and strains of mortal men?

Yes, and Grecian formula, applied regularly on a campaign trail can also turn grey hair black.

Yes, stress can turn hair grey. And Zinc supplements can reverse the grey. Dunno why that is, but it is.

Hmmm, I once read that the heavy use of marijuana would cause a person's hair to become prematurely gray.

I suppose the stress of deciding which puppy to purchase was too much for him. By the way...has he reached a decision yet?

This happens to every president-elect. Once they tell you the Big Secret, all that happy-clappy campaign bull goes out the window.

And it’s not just his hair. Notice how much more serious his demeanor has become since his first briefing. Whatever it is they tell you must be a real humdinger.

I am pretty sure he kept it black early on to look young and hip, and then abruptly let it go more gray in the general election when he wanted to appear experienced and wise to get the older voters.

I noticed this a few days ago.

I've always been amazed at the before and after pictures of the President.

THIS one is going to be very dramatic!

Rapid greying of Obama's hair raises the question: Can stress turn hair grey?

Compare pictures of Ronald Reagan to Clinton and 0bama and it is obvious that stress has less impact on greying hair than the slinging of BS does.

Precisely. No more coloring to look that much younger than McPain. Watch for the tics and wringles in six months.

I don't know if stress will turn your hair gray or not, but as short as he wears his hair, he would need Grecian Formula every week and he obviously hasn't done that.

He was battling a tic during the election. but I think now that he is being "coronated" (sp?), he'll let the old Clinton Administration handle everything while he continues to "campaign" and bask in the worship.

Why do you think GWB abandoned free market and used government to take over the banks and insurance companies? The losses and potential losses from over leveraging by Wall Street threatens to destroy the social stability of the US. That info is withheld by the government, because if the people knew the real numbers, there would be a run on our banks. The bailout is a holding action until the markets improve or someone finds a financial solution. BHO just learned of the real numbers, plus other pressing issues such as terrorist threats and etc. I think he knows that he did not do himself a favor by winning the election in 2008.

You got that right. Once he started getting the sooper sekrit briefings right before the election, his demeanor totally changed. When he gave his victory speech on election night, he looked freaked out, not happy. That must be some serious crap that they unloaded on him.
