Er, to be fair here, it was the Chief Justice that flubbed it, which threw Obambi off.
I don’t want to be in the business of sticking up for the new cretin-in-chief here, but I’d prefer to keep criticism of him grounded in reality.
This is just silly, and inaccurate.

Come on, let this one go. It makes us look like idiots. Roberts flubbed it. It looks to me like he skipped the word faithfully, realized he had done so, then added the word back in at the end of the sentence. Obama hesitated—with reason—do I recite the Chief Justice’s rewording or do I stick with what I memorized, the formal wording. Roberts realized why Obama was hesitating and jumped in with the correct wording.
Roberts made the mistake. If anything, Obama was overprepared and knew what the proper wording was.
Jumping on Obama for this makes us look like fools. Choose your battles prudently.

I realize that they both messed it up. I wonder if (much more importantly), not following the Constitution- dictated oath to the letter now means that the Presidency is not official?
A technicality might keep him from being President? We can only hope.
