Benediction at Obama's inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery: 'Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in the back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen'...
What the???
Wasn't a black man just elected president?
The Rev. Joseph E. Lowery, who seems to be a race-hustler, was chosen by Obama himself to give his benediction.
Does he sound like another Rev. Wright?
how about asking half-black for their birth certificate
I wonder where, oh where, I may write the Rev. Lowery.
Does he sound like another Rev. Wright?
Didn’t Obama chose him, too?

Never have I heard a more accusatory, partisan, bitter Inauguration than I witnessed today.
I wasn’t gonna watch, but now am glad I did.
To those of us who know Barack and his background...we understand these words and are not surprised by the racist tone.
Rev. Lowery:
It was white people who, for the first time in the history of the world said, We are strong enough to enslave other people, but it is wrong, and we are not going to do it any more.
It was white people who then pressed the rest of the (non-white) world to give up slavery. It was legal in parts of the Arab world until the 20th century.
It was white people who set up a government of laws guaranteeing them freedom. But that freedom presumed and required that individuals embrace right by regulating their own behavior, providing for their families, obeying the laws, respecting the property of others, and being productive.
It was white people who kept that system going and productive, and created a country which has given more freedom and prosperity to its citizens of all colors than any other country in the world.
It was white people who passed the civil rights laws that gave Obama and other minorities advantages that they could never have gotten on their own merits.
It is tens of millions of white people who have worked hard and paid the taxes that have supported millions of non-whites. I, personally, have had enough of my income confiscated each year to support the spawn of a couple of skanks who cant keep their knees together, and who are being raised to think I owe them even more.
Any person of any color who embraces right in this country can get ahead. Embracing right means work before pleasure, paying rent before buying bling, marriage before children, and all the other daily choices that constitute embracing right.
Damn you, you nasty old race baiter.
Sounds like “The Man” is keeping us down now.
This will not heal decades old divisions. It’s ripping the scabs off of old wounds.
Well, all kidding aside, I'm sure even pres. Obama had to cringe at that. It seems that there are still people out who want to keep living in the past. I thought he was supposed to deliver a prayer not give a sermon on race relations. Truly inappropriate.
Am I the only white guy more offended that this stinking hippy called GOD “man” ?.....
Yep, there will be change after America is subjected to that kind of racist drivel for the next four years.
Like I said in another thread of mine:
Obama will not fulfill MLK’s dream of a post-racial America.
Obama will divide us even further.
Benedictions/sermons of this genre are more about sound than content. All it’s supposed to do is rhyme, and it did that. Whatever. Frankly, it was a whole lot better than that lame poem Elizabeth Alexander recited. That was truly awful and the timing couldn’t have been worse. Obama had just gotten done with his big pep talk, and had the crowd all revved up about how we’re all going to work together going to make America greater than ever . . . and then the immediate future turned out to be that ultra-lame, embarrassingly bad poem.
The race hustle continues...
I already embrace what is right. As in conservative. As in correct. As in right wing....
I don’t embrace what is “Wright”.
White people just voted an empty suit president because a sorta black guy was wearing it.
Yeah, I’m hoping they “will embrace what is right” next time.
Please tell me you are kidding. He really didn’t say this in public, did he?
“Rev. Although Lowrey's black
He's still a racist hack
Change: The Country’s First Racist Inaugural Benediction
And if it was a comment about racism (and I believe it was), which to far too many on the left is the greatest of all sins, the reverend is stuck in the 60's. I thought the election of Obama, was proof that racism in America has been largely overcome. Unfortunately for some black Americans on the left, nothing is ever enough.
Exodus 20:7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."
It will be enough!
So, this is the new age of inclusiveness? Why don’t I feel included?
I don’t know where he’s been hanging around (time warp, maybe?), but for the last three years, my boss, my program manager was a man who happened to be black. I have a new boss as of 12 days ago because the man who happened to be black was promoted to company VP.
ooooo-k,
To the good Reverend
Sir, please note; your karma is going to kick your azz up around your ears.
Thank you,
TLI
“The Other Jeremiah Wright” references one of the great hymns of Christendom in his racist benedictal prayer...ping.
Don’t have my LSB handy by the hymn title is “To All the Saints, Who From Their Labors Rest”
They have no intention of “getting over it” and declaring their grievances over.
This is pretty typical, they intend to extract vengeance, and must keep past grievances alive in order to justify the acts of vengeance.

Bear constant repetition...
They got their President - race is no longer an issue. I didn’t vote for him, but he is the President. Just like I didn’t vote for Carter or Clinton, but they were the President. Now it’s time to be an American, and that gives me the right to free speech and to question every leftist thing The President, Madam Pelosi and Senator Reid does.
Really, what else did you expect from this crowd?
It confirms for me what I have strongly suspected for a while-that the race-hustling types and their followers aren’t about equality, they’re about being in a superior position in order to “pay whitey back”. They couldn’t do it through numbers, they haven’t done it with the “help” of AA and quotas, so now with a “black” president they see their chance. Reparations, possibly by another name, are on the horizon.
“......and when white will embrace what is right.”
Clearly racist. I want my reparations and bailout checks at the same time.
Obama will not fulfill MLKs dream of a post-racial America.
Obama will divide us even further.”
The interesting thing is that many of us of European decent, have really moved past race mattering. We will accept and judge someone “based on the content of their character”.
But we get really tired of all those people who constantly harp on this issue and make excuses.
We just want to see people shut up, get to work, and quit whining.
In all of our lives, we all have had many obstacles to overcome, and people not like us for one reason or another.
Though using God’s name as an explitive is a violation of this commandment,
the true, hardcore, violation of this commandment is when someone speaks in the name of the Lord and spouts crap that is antithetical to His being.
Elizabeth Alexander. She thinks having a conversation with herself is “poetry”
“when brown can stick around... “
If UPS goes the way of that other delivery company, then Obama really has one parcel load to deal with
I think it would be very safe to say that, as a percentage of their group, blacks have recently exposed that they are MUCH more racist than whites.
330,000 AMERICAN white people (not to mention the European white people) died in WW II to prevent the ultimate racist from rampaging over the world and ELIMINATING ALL NON-WHITE PEOPLE.
I'm willing to say a million dead white people should be enough to satisfy the blood lust of all but the very worst black racist.
lol, “when Fed-Ex can bring the checks”
Lowery is beneath contempt.
And we’re off
He left out, “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”
This is only the prelude. The adjective to sum up the Obama presidency is cheap.
maybe 0bama’s new creed should be “What can brown do for you?”
He said it...
The talking point in 2008 was that black people had been “held back” and that with the election of Barack Obama, NOW a black man could become president. NOW the black community could “do something” that they were being held back from doing.
Except no one was holding them back. It was crooked and bigoted “community organizers” who used their powers of publicity to indoctrinate the black community with the racist notion that they “could not” do things. And these sheeple then indoctrinated this talking point into their children. Rather than telling them “anything is possible” and that you are only limited in your success by what you strive to achieve.
“but the very worst black racist.”
We have plenty of those I see.
