Demi And The Dimwits Take "The Pledge" (This Pledge A Bad Act)
Boston Herald ^ | January 22, 2009 | Michael Graham

Posted on 01/22/2009 4:19:00 AM PST by suspects

President Barack Obama has an unusual ability to bring out the best in his enemies and the worst in his friends.

Which is why former foe John McCain was leading the push for a Senate vote on Hillary Clinton as secretary of state; and why the most disturbing Obama video you’ll see this year was just posted by his biggest fans.

Demi Moore and her boy toy Ashton Kutcher have put together a YouTube video called “The Pledge,” in which a cast of celebrities and semi-celebs pledge their service to Obama.

Literally.

The video starts harmlessly enough, with Hollywoodies like Cameron Diaz, Laura Linney and the like making various innocuous pledges of good behavior. They range from the serious (“I pledge to promote mental health education”) to the silly (“I pledge to never give the finger while driving again”) to the slightly icky (Jason Bateman pledges to stop flushing the toilet after urinating. House guests, you’ve been warned).

So when rocker Anthony Kiedis says “I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama,” it seems humorously over the top.

But then Moore stares intently into the camera and announces “I pledge to be a servant to our president,” a pledge echoed by all the celebs who promise to become “the change that we seek.”

A pledge of allegiance to Obama? I don’t care if you’re a Republican, Democrat or a Vegan Evangelical Anarchist - that’s just plain creepy.

It’s also odd coming from a group of people who’ve previously shown little enthusiasm for pledging allegiance to our flag, much less a previous president.

Seriously - if a dozen college conservatives had lined up on TV to pledge their service to George W. Bush, wouldn’t there be an HBO documentary on “America’s BusHitler Youth” by the end of the week?

None...

I pledge to do everything I can to expose Obama as the socialist/marxist that he truly is and to do everything in my power, within legal bounds, to destroy his presidency so that this country will never elect another marxist again.

Seriously, and I am not joking here. Are we looking at the anti-christ? This is not normal stuff happening. Something is terribly wrong.

To many things are adding up. I used to joke about it. As of today, no more jokes. Everything that has happened, everything he as said, everything done by others all over the world to basically worship him is too much for me to think it is just coincidental.

Jesus told us to look for the signs. Well this sign is shinning like neon, to bright to ignore.

It is all too creepy and wrong.

The year is still young. I think we will see things a lot more disturbing than this in the next 11 months.

Over the next 8 years, this will be forgotten as very small outliers of the catastrophe to come.

unlimited immigration
unlimited socialism
unlimited liberalism

Goodbye to the republic, but wave that goodbye before the Obama Youth Corps is formed, or you will be targeted for real punishment.

The antichrist. . . . you are not alone in seeing this parallel. There is a mass deception going on and it is clearly spiritual.

I have basically stopped going to the movies. I can’t stomach the thought of giving my hard-earned money to these pathetically stupid celebrities. They’ve gone too far in my book.

I get it!! They pledge to do what we all have been doing as a matter of course in our lives. (Of course, they were prevented from pledging when that evil Bush guy was in office!! He refused to allow anyone to do the righ thing! Diabolical! How did we survive the last 8 years??)

Non-believing heathens, the whole lot of you! Curses be upon you!

“I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama,”

Ew! Not me!

I pledge to be of service to The Constitution of the United States of America, starting with an Atlas Shrugged-lite reduction in my economic participation under the socialist usurper.

I will buy nothing that is optional - I need nothing, and my kids can benefit from a little more do-it-yourself entertainment.

I will pay for no entertainment for the next four years, no exceptions other than books and ammunition.

I will purchase no goods and no services produced by any company receiving bailout funds, no exceptions. Forever.

Rather than paying a plumber/electrician to do a repair or improvement on my home and in turn earning extra income through my professional skills, I will do all work on my home myself - much more slowly but that will keep my tax liability lower.

I will instead save aggressively for the economic boom that I plan to support when the Usurper finally leaves office.

Until 2012, I hope the lazy 53% can support the economy on their own. I did more than my share until now, and thanks to their votes, it's their turn. As for me, my vote is "starve the beast".

I don’t think that there are enough signs being filled for him to be the anti-christ. That doesn’t mean he can’t be as evil, or more evil then hitler or stalin.

...This is not normal stuff happening. Something is terribly wrong.

The anti-Christ? No. A titanic shift in social evolution? Yes.

Remember, with every great discovery/invention has caused massive upheavals in the way we humans act and interact. Consider, for example, the effects of the use of fire, development of the wheel, the printing press, compass, the harnessing of steam, the automobile, the BC pill, and now the computer.

The comfortable, familiar past had been blown sky high. The dust and debris is still raining down around - and conking us on -- our heads, and will for a long time. But God is in His heaven, and life is unfolding as it should.
