Limbaugh Responds to Obama
National Review ^ | 1/24/09 | Byron York

Posted on 01/24/2009 1:06:04 PM PST by JRochelle

According to an account in the New York Post, President Barack Obama yesterday told Republican leaders, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." With George W. Bush now off the stage, it may be that Obama and some of his fellow Democrats view Limbaugh, and not John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, or any other elected official, as the true leader of the Republican opposition. This morning I asked Rush for his thoughts on all this, and here is his response:

There are two things going on here. One prong of the Great Unifier's plan is to isolate elected Republicans from their voters and supporters by making the argument about me and not about his plan. He is hoping that these Republicans will also publicly denounce me and thus marginalize me. And who knows? Are ideological and philosophical ties enough to keep the GOP loyal to their voters? Meanwhile, the effort to foist all blame for this mess on the private sector continues unabated when most of the blame for this current debacle can be laid at the feet of the Congress and a couple of former presidents. And there is a strategic reason for this.

Secondly, here is a combo quote from the meeting:

"If we don't get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election. But we can't let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That's how things don't get done in this town."

To make the argument about me instead of his plan makes sense from his perspective. Obama's plan would buy votes for the Democrat Party, in the same way FDR's New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule, and it would also simultaneously seriously damage any hope of future tax cuts. It would allow a majority of American voters to guarantee no taxes for themselves going forward. It would burden the private sector and put the public sector in permanent and firm control of the economy. Put simply, I believe his stimulus is aimed at re-establishing "eternal" power for the Democrat Party rather than stimulating the economy because anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy. If I can be made to serve as a distraction, then there is that much less time debating the merits of this TRILLION dollar debacle.

Obama was angry that Merrill Lynch used $1.2 million of TARP money to remodel an executive suite. Excuse me, but didn't Merrill have to hire a decorator and contractor? Didn't they have to buy the new furnishings? What's the difference in that and Merrill loaning that money to a decorator, contractor and goods supplier to remodel Warren Buffet's office? Either way, stimulus in the private sector occurs. Are we really at the point where the bad PR of Merrill getting a redecorated office in the process is reason to smear them? How much money will the Obamas spend redecorating the White House residence? Whose money will be spent? I have no problem with the Obamas redoing the place. It is tradition. 600 private jets flown by rich Democrats flew into the Inauguration. That's fine but the auto execs using theirs is a crime? In both instances, the people on those jets arrived in Washington wanting something from Washington, not just good will.

If I can be made to serve as a distraction, then there is that much less time debating the merits of the trillion dollar debacle.

One more thing, Byron. Your publication and website have documented Obama's ties to the teachings of Saul Alinksy while he was community organizing in Chicago. Here is Rule 13 of Alinksy's Rules for Radicals:

"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."

The RNC should make it mandatory for all elected Republicans to wear an EIB lapel pin so we can tell who the traitors are.

No real substance in Obama’s claims that the GOP shouldn’t listen to Limbaugh. Just bumper sticker partisan rhetoric. Limbaugh’s response however contained actual substance ie. the democrat power grab disguised as a trillion dollar ‘stimulus’ bill. Excellent response Rush!

Obama is bringing a pea shooter to gun fight.

"Troika / Footstool of Liberalism...Corruption, Nationalization & Propaganda" Rush Limbaugh

I understand your point, but I also understand Rush's. He is using the absurd to illustrate absurdity. The very Congress that gave Merril Lynch the money, with no strings attached, and no guidelines on how to use that money, is not crying that Merril Lynch spent money on redecorating.

Obama is in the process of playing Limbaugh for a ‘gag man’ to his Marxist initiatives, as a way to create deeper division in the nation to be exploited by the Rhambo style of politics. Limbaugh will serve Obammy’s purpose quite nicely since Rush is clueless to his own egomania. Within a year, Obamam will have Rush Limabugh on a nose ring to be yanked whenever Obammy needs a distraction.

Rush Limbaugh is single-handedly saving our nation from total socialist ruin. He completely nails Obama on these points. Why mention Rush at all? You didn't see Bush scream about Olbermann did we? Because Rush has completely exposed Obama for what he truly is and his agenda. This "stimulus" is all about securing Democrat power forever.

But watch what happens. As Rush said, there will be some Republicans who are going to denounce Rush and cooperate with Obama in the spirit of bipartisanship. We can't let this happen.

"If we don't get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election.

But, I thought Obama said it wasn't about him, it was about us. Did he not really mean that?

I just sent this message to my senator. I suggest you do the same.

“Obama’s recent attack on Rush Limbaugh is nothing more than an abuse of an elected official’s power to limit a private citizen’s free speech. I hope you do not listen to the anointed one. I would be very please if you obtained and wore an EIB lapel pin to show your support for free speech and to allow voters to know you are not a traitor to the people who elected you.”

Did you read the article? Rush knows exactly what O is doing and calls him on it::

The fact that Zero even brought up Rush’s name shows how stupid he is.

Exactly. Obama is a thinned skinned wimp worried more about his faux image than doing the job the brain dead idiots elected him to do.

If Obama is serious about marginalizing Limbaugh, he has at his disposal, sympathizers within the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, eventually the Justice Dept., to set up Limbaugh in some legal strangle, black mail, or simply eliminate him...I hope Rush has the courage to see this and continue to ridicule Obama....I hope he has paid all of his taxes...

Creating division? Heck, Rush is not creating it; everybody knows it’s there, and that’s why Obama is trying to crush Rush, because Rush is the only prominent conservative left on our side of the division.

Obama is dumb as the day is long, and his irritability and fragile mental state will probably get him into trouble before long. But that still doesn’t get at the people behind him - Axelrod, Ayers and Rahm - unless he has a complete breakdown and has to be carried out of the WH tied to a stretcher. But I think they’ll give him drugs before he gets that far.

However, the good thing about Rush is that he’s actually smart and informed. He knows who these people are, he has read Alinsky, and he is going to be standing for a long time, unless they silence him.

Bambi and the people behind him know how dangerous Rush is. They couldn’t buy him with a dinner and a pat on the back, as they did with the rest of the “conservative press,” so watch for the pressure tactics to start. Well, maybe they already have.
