Washington, DC -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is coming under heavy criticism today from those who say she implied children hurt the economy. Pelosi made the comments in an interview with ABC News over the weekend defending a decision to include a bailout for the abortion industry in the economic stimulus bill.

She’s already got HER children, so screw everyone else.
I took her meaning to be that human life in general hurt the economy. But that’s just me, and the difference is a subtle one. I guess all democrats look at human life (other than their own) as a disease to be cured.

ACCUSED of saying?? She said birth control will HELP the economy, so yes, the inference is that babies hurt it.

And how, pray tell, does Pelosi expect to keep a steady number of employees to cover the worker-retiree ratio to cover Social security (and Medicare) that is getting smaller and smaller every year? The answer is so clear: the Dems want to bankrupt the Federal government so that every entitlement is bundled under cradle-to-grave "care".

I’d like to hear how the Pope responds to her. That is a terrible thing to say.
On a practical note: Many countries are concerned with the so few children and Italy is even paying couples to have babies. Drudge reported today that Japan is encouraging more births to maintain its population.
Now, Ms Pelosi seeks to abort their numbers. Where do the Dems thing all the money is gonna come from? Taxes? There's a boiling point to impediments to incentivism and entrepreneurship - Ms Nancy pants and Zer0 are about to take us to it.
It is very very important to keep this new administration on the defensive for the entire term of office.

This morning I attended a meeting of Catholic lay people,where the recent developments on abortion and contraception were discussed.All were concerned by the lack of leadership from most of the bishops and priests.
