Politicians in Colorado are split over the chance detainees from Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, could be imprisoned at the Supermax federal detention facility in Florence. Some say Supermax can handle Gitmo suspects just fine, others warn its too dangerous. But the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Colorado said in a statement to the Colorado Independent Friday afternoon that moving Gitmo detainees including many only suspected of crimes to the countrys most secure prison is simply another form of torture, one which makes a mockery of innocent until proven guilty. Denver and Boulder voted for Obama: don’t tag us with this garbage because most of the rest of the state didn’t have a say in electing the POTUS. We also had no say in McCain being the nominee.
If you are from VA like your name states, I think you voted Obama. I think you also had a say in nominating McCain.
And, BTW, CO is more than happy to take all of the prisoners. Florence, CO (Canon City) makes a business out of prisons and houses a LOT of the refuse from the system.
Florence ADX is the most secure prison in the US and houses the prisoners that no one else wants (see a list on Wikipedia). Adding in a couple more diaper heads will mean nothing.
