Ahmadinejad Demands Apology for U.S. 'Crimes'

TEHRAN, Iran — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for "profound changes" in U.S. foreign policy on Wednesday, including giving up support for Israel, during an address to thousands of people in the western city of Kermanshah.

President Obama on Tuesday, in an interview with Arabic television, called for more dialogue with Iran to express difference and see "where there are potential avenues for progress."

Without mentioning President Barack Obama by name, Ahmadinejad Wednesday repeatedly referred to those who want to bring "change," a word used often in Obama's election campaign, and indicated that Iran would be looking to see if there would be substantive differences in U.S. policy.

"We welcome change but on condition that change is fundamental and on the right track," Ahmadinejad said. "When they say 'we want to make changes', change can happen in two ways. First is a fundamental and effective change... The second ... is a change of tactics."

Ahmadinejad also demanded the U.S. apologize for 'crimes' committed against Iran; specifically, criticizing and trying to block their nuclear program.

"Those who say they want to make change, this is the change they should make: they should apologize to the Iranian nation and try to make up for their dark background and the crimes they have committed against the Iranian nation," Ahmadinejad said.

Later Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told reporters that the U.S. administration is undertaking a wide-ranging and comprehensive survey of U.S. foreign policy options toward Iran.

I’d like our apology to be in the form of a sniper’s bullet with Ahmanutjob’s name on it, but that’s just me.

Obama will apologize for everythingin the Middel East including the creation of the State of Israel in 1949. Maybe he can throw Roosevelt under the bus for not taking action earlier.

Our empty suit in the White House will apologize shortly . . . After all, we Americans should be ashamed of ourselves . . . ask Obama and his darling wife who said, “America is a mean country in 2008.” I am so sorry . . .

There’s no point in apologizing. The mullahs have no intention of changing their policy and never have. And now they are closer to the prize. They’ve worked 20 years for the day they could call an atomic bomb their own.

All they are doing here is restating their policy and willingness for the US to sign on to it.

Of course that means agreeing to see Israel erased.

Obama clearly knew this was possible as he framed the potential conversation on avenues that could move forward. He’s going to discover that the mullahs don’t operate in the time of reality like the rest of the world and that since Carter to the present, they see nothing in the world differently.

So the idea of them changing, especially now is absurd.

The campaign rhetoric is now meeting reality. And all the backchannels in the world via the Swiss or anyone else will result in the same outcome it has for decades.

The mullahs will not change. Their eye is on the prize. And destruction could be in the world’s future. Iran does not even work now economically. With the drop in energy their present and future looks dire. Historically, that has meant an escalation not preclusion of warfare.

And the mullahs are now ever closer.

Ahmadinejad Demands Apology for U.S. 'Crimes'
Does Mahmoud own a TV or radio? Bush has already apologized for past "U.S. Crimes".
The CRIMES of FDR and Truman, and them subjugating all of Eastern Europe and Asia to the yoke of Communism! And for the deaths of tens (hundreds?) of millions that resulted.

oh wait ... I don't think Mahmoud meant those 'crimes'.

I think Obama should go on national television and apologize to the Iranians. I also think we should begin discussion of sending reparations as well.

And what about Hugo Chavez? Doesn’t he deserve an apology too?
