Race Heats Up For Next Head Of FAA (Harry Reid hack pal being forced upon Obama)

Although Duane Woerth, a former president of the Air Line Pilots Association, has long been considered a strong contender to take over as next FAA administrator, Senate aide Robert Herbert seems to be making headway, the Washington Post reported on Monday. Herbert is an advisor to Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., the Senate majority leader, and specializes in transportation, defense and security issues. Woerth is backed by the AFL-CIO. Senator Reid has sent a letter to the Obama transition team expressing support for Herbert, according to the Post. Also, Herbert met last Thursday with Ray LaHood, on the same day he was appointed Transportation Secretary. Relations between unions and the FAA have long been contentious, and LaHood has said that settling those issues will be a top priority for him.

Herbert may gain from delay, says Post columnist Al Kamen. "Each day, the administration is going to find things to ask Reid's help on, and Reid, by coincidence, might find it opportune to ask how his pal Herbert is doing with that FAA job," says Kamen.

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher here in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree.

She discovered that Congressman Harry Reid’s great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.

On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: ‘Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in1889.’

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.

Believe it or not, Harry Reid’s staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:
‘Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.

Thanks for noting that Rotten Reid is trying to foist, Bob Herbert, an inexperienced no name, to head the FAA.

So everyone can look this looser up I will give you his full name: Lieutenant Colonel Robert Herbert. You accurately pointed out has NO aviation experience. OK, he is a veteran, big deal! The only reason he joined the army was because his dad was career Army Master Sergeant, He was too young to know what he was doing because he joined the Army before graduated from high school. After he graduated he went to basic training and then on to FLIGHT School. So what, a lot of guys are pilots; that has nothing to do with the FAA.

During his career as an Army AVIATOR he went to test pilot school and became a test pilot in both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. Just some hot shot! It means nothing that on the side he got his BS degree from Embry Riddle AERONOAUTICAL University and his master’s degree from George Washington University. We all know what BS stands for!

One more thing. Herbert quits the Army and joins the Nevada National Guard. He wastes your and my TAX DOLLARS on fuel to fly around in a Black Hawk helicopter.

This whole big government thing has had this guy working on military, veterans’Affairs, TRANSPORTATION AND TECHNOLOGY.

What a looser. Don’t let Reid pull a fast one and put a guy who has wasted his whole life as an Aviator and leader to head the FAA.
