The country does better when Washington is closed by snow.
I get really tired of this garbage. I lived in NW Pennsylvania and they closed schools all the time. One year they closed school for 4 days because it was too cold to stand at the bus stop.
Maybe he should move to TN where my sister lives. They close schools if there’s even a hint it might snow sometime in the next 24 hours.
Since he’s of this opinion I expect the government to never close over the next four years due to weather.

But I'm not the President, and I've spent winters in both places, so let me say I know exactly what he means.
But it's not just Washington. I live in California where it only rains in the winter time. No snow, rarely ice, just rain. And when it rains people on the roads lose their frakking minds. Something a Chicagoan wouldn't think twice about causes people here to run into perfectly innocent telephone poles.
Why doesn’t he just bang his staff and make the ice stop?
Obama wants to decide when the schools should close because of the weather. These people with nothing important to do tend to get bogged down in minutiae.

I heard on the radio that DC schools were open today. My kids are home all day from Fairfax County Schools....

What’s the problem? Did Michelle not want to deal with her kids today? Most people are happy when the kids get a snow/ice day so they can spend time with their children.
