Good. Enough time and money has been wasted on this fiasco as it is.
How will the Obama Cult get their daily marching orders without their bread and circus clown on tv?
Does anyone know why the government has edicted to elimination of analog TV boadcsting and institued digital only broadcasts? Seems like they would not do this unless there was something sinister in their motives.
I guess fighting Zero's cabinet selections and the Porkulus Bill was just not important enough.
Good..
The problem with the digital TV conversion is that the few people left who use rabbit ears are the least likely to have a clue about what’s happening. The solution IMHO would be to shut down the analog transmission for a week or so, thereby sending a message that something’s happening, then resume the analog transmission for a limited time until it’s shut off altogether.
The delay will pass. Another $250,000,000 of taxpayer $$ will be used to subsidize $40 coupons to purchase $25 boxes.
AT&T, Verizon et al, who paid billions for the rights to the analog frequencies that were supposed to be theirs this Feb will sue, costing hundreds of millions more.
The Dems will blame the Republicans, the media will report it that way, and the people will believe it.
Repeat ad nauseum. Welcome to hell.
It’s already been on TV that there is a delay till June 09? What are they blocking?
So typical of this bunch of Luddites!
If there’s anyone left who actually watches TV and doesn’t know about the DTV transition...they can only blame themselves.
Enough time, effort and money by the government and broadcasters has been spent. MORE than enough.
Thousands of TV stations and Verizon Wireless hurt most...for the political benefit of Sprint. New communications bandwidth for public service bands is stifled. All for a little political grandstanding and payback for a Sprint lobbyist.
‘No Oprah Show Left Behind’ bill momentarily derailed.
Truth be told, it seems there are a lot of stations that just aren’t ready yet, either.
Folks, rich or poor, young or old, who wait until the last moment are just procrastinators... nothing more or less.
Good! Everday it is put off is nother day we fall behind the rest of the world. People have known for several years that this was coming so just let it happen. Even my untechwise DFIL called a month ago wanting Dh to hook his converter up. If the procrastinator’s haven’t done it yet then giving them another 4 months isn’t going to help either.
TV is an entitlement now.
Hmm...
I live in an eastern suburb of Denver. As it stands now, with a regular antenna I can get all of 2-3 tv analog signals thru an antenna. And frankly, they don’t come in all that great. Still, they come in good enough where if that’s all I had I would be able to view them.
I get absolutely zero digital channels (yes, I do have a tv with a digital tuner). With digital if you don’t have great antenna strength you are getting nothing.
I bet there are thousands of people in the Denver area (especially those who live in buildings without a clear view to the western sky) who use nothing but an antenna who are going to get screwed by this. Unfortunately in this city, they put the antenna 30 miles away on a mountain. I suspect other cities will be hurt with the antenna strength issues as well.
To be fair, I don’t have the greatest antenna in the world. I was going to make this one out of wire hangers that I saw on youtube to see if that would improve things. And frankly, I have Directv so this doesn’t affect me, but still I don’t like seeing something that will affect a lot of other people (although I’m not sure I want to get into the debate about whether cutting someone’s tv off is really a good thing or whatever).
