Obama Tells Arabia's Despots They're Safe
Wall Street Journal ^ | 01/28/09 | FOUAD AJAMI

America's diplomacy of freedom is officially over.

"To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect," President Barack Obama said in his inaugural. But in truth, the new way forward is a return to realpolitik and business as usual in America's encounter with that Greater Middle East. As the president told Al-Arabiya television Monday, he wants a return to "the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago."

Associated Press/Al-Arabiya Barack Obama is interviewed by Al-Arabiya television on Monday. Say what you will about the style -- and practice -- of the Bush years, the autocracies were on notice for the first five or six years of George. W. Bush's presidency. America had toppled Taliban rule and the tyranny of Saddam Hussein; it had frightened the Libyan ruler that a similar fate lay in store for him. It was not sweet persuasion that drove Syria out of Lebanon in 2005. That dominion of plunder and terror was given up under duress.

Since when did we have mutual respect 30 years ago. Zero thinks history started when he was 18 and smoking pot.

The Obama doctrine = I’m not Bush, so let’s negotiate.....and take care of that little “Jewish problem.”

Wasn't the nazi in a cheap suit now running Persia attacking the American Embassy and holding its inhabitants hostage 20-30 years ago?

I'm sure Khaddafi has the mohammedans bloodthirsty taste for revenge front and center on his mind.

He now sees his opportunity in POTUS MUZZIE HUSSEIN SOCIALIST FROM KENYA.

They laugh in their palaces at the foolishness of the majority of the American sheeple.

Don't be surprised when the next catastrophic attack on the homeland has his fingerprints all over it.

That’s the very first thing I thought of when he said that.

Saddam Hussein slaughtered thousands Kurds of Halabja with nerve gas just shy of 21 years ago in March 1988, while the US looked the other way because Iraq was our bulwark against Iran and the Soviets.

If that’s the kind of “respect and partnership” Obama seeks, I despair for the future of the long-suffering victims of the tyrannies of the Arab world.

We should come up with a “respect and partnership” list from 1979 to 1989, twenty to thirty years ago. Hijackings, the Shah, Ayatollah Khomeini, kidnappings, hostages, bombings, Iraqi nerve gas, you name it.

I’m despairing for OUR future, since we’re the ones with a President Hussein now.

And die they will

How many American have already died at the hands of the Iranians?

How many in Iraq?

How many in Beirut via Hamas?

And what of seizure of our embassy?

What about the nuclear weapons development program that even the UN says must come to a halt?

In a single swoop Obama is announcing to the world that there is a moral equivalence between Iran's actions and that of the U.S. Obama already degrades our country. His action will surely bring nothing but catastrophe. And he is already on a path of selling out Israel.

Somehow I think 0 is thinking of (singularly) that silly accord between Sadat’s Egypt and Israel “brokered” by Carter.

As if that defines typical “respect” BY Moslems anyway (as if the US has shown such horrible disrespect, I suppose like embargoes or the like; compared to killings, etc).

TWA Flight 847 was an international Trans World Airlines flight which was hijacked by Lebanese Shia Islamists on Friday morning, June 14, 1985, after originally taking off from Cairo. The flight was en route from Athens, Greece to Rome, Italy, from where it was scheduled to travel on to London. The aircraft with its passengers and crew endured a three-day intercontinental ordeal during which one passenger, a U.S. Navy diver, was murdered.

Mutual Respect, B.Hussein style, 24 years ago, right in the middle of his era of mutual respect.

Yeah, isn’t it strange that Hillery, who used to make me ill, now would be welcome relief to Obama? At least Hillery likes our country and we know for sure where she was born. Bill was horrible, but even he’d be better. Hillery certainly has more guts than Zero. She’d be better at being CIC. Obama is just a nightmare. He has certainly moved quickly on getting his marxist plans in place. I think he’ll jump the shark pretty soon and just go too far, and The Emperor will then “have no clothes”. The honeymoon will be over.
