Glenn Beck: Remember the Alamo(Transcript)
The Glenn Beck Program ^ | January 29, 2009 | Glenn Beck

Audio Available:

GLENN: A lot of people call this program and they say, "No one's fighting, no one's listening to me, I'm tired, I'm alone, I can't do it anymore, I'm not willing, I'm going to unplug, this is hopeless, there are too many problems, the odds are stacked against us." Look at what's happening in the world.

I've been doing a lot of thinking for the last month on this particular problem. Where is the hope? Where is the true belief, not, "Everything's going to work out." Where is the true belief that we're going to make it? Because if you're listening to me and you listen to me on a regular basis, if you just stumble across me, god bless you, good luck, buckle up, you're in for quite a ride. But if you're listening to me on a regular basis, you're here for a reason because your gut tells you maybe, maybe that's right and it sounds more right than, "Well, don't worry, this package coupled with this package, we're set. Everything will be back to normal. In, you know, six months we're going to be out of this thing." I don't think so, that doesn't sound right. But now how -- for those people who just their gut says it's not right, how do you hold on? What do you do?

I wanted to look back at the Alamo because I think Texas is going to play a role. I don't know why. I just think Texas is going to play a role, and it's the spirit of the Texan that I think this country needs. "Oh, gee, we don't have to wear big hats." No, they don't really -- well, some of them do. In fact, a strange, a strange amount of them do. But...

Its funny how the neocons on here chide Glenn on some of his observations and predictions...but he is usually correct

Except for still supporting free trade (puzzling because he is probably the most anti-Globalist on the radio), Beck is pretty much spot on with his ideas and predictions....just hope Fox doesnt get squirrely and drop him

We tape and watch it everyday. We did when he was on cnn too. I just wish his show was on later in the evening, or at least replayed later in the evening.

Glenn Beck literally changed my life.....that is NOT an exaggeration.....

these days, he keeps me on track, inpsired, and principled....kinda like a daily accountability partner...

although, I noticed the other day watching his show that he looks exactly how I picture Bart Simpson would look as a grown man!

;-)

Is it safe to say that this time, the invading army is coming from the NORTH rather than the south?

Like you, I always fly the Gonzalez Flag flag on Cinco de Mayo, sometimes the Zavala flag. Good photos Liberty but then again as a Texan, I recognized the Valley without even reading your caption.

I just wish his show was on later in the evening, or at least replayed later in the evening.

IMHO if Fox had it's ducks in a row, they;d know putting Beck on later in the evening (say before O'Reilly and/or after Hannity-Greta) would be a block many viewers would not switch away from. Mid-afternoon is NOT a place Glenn Beck deserves to be. He'd likely be a draw for many who have never seen him on CNN. Even challenged CNN knew that later time period was a keeper for their network's ratings.

He seems uncomfortable on FOX. (out of sync) Hopefully he’ll settle in.

Sorry, Glenn, but far too many of the American people are ignorant, ill-informed, lazy, self-absorbed and just plain stupid. Those who would be happy to put up a fight, simply don’t know how! Electing republicans didn’t work. The ‘94 election made that pretty clear, for once in office, the limp-wristed and the congenitally criminal took over, destroying the faith of those who put them in power. Glenn, this nation is going to need a full fledged 2nd American revolution...complete with armed militias in the millions. We will be required to literally overthrow the current govt thugs and hold new, honest elections. That means both at the polls and in the media. And to create such a massive, unheard of and undoubtedly impossible-if-not-ridiculous sounding event, an overwhelming reason will have to be presented by our enemies. Our elected criminals have already stolen our money, trampled on our rights, brainwashed our kids and followed every principle set down by George Orwell, with little or no response from “the people.” So what can possibly stir such a pathetic, disinterested, brain dead public to risk everything from home to family to life? The overturning of the 2nd amendment. On the day that occurs—and it will, as leftists can’t help themselves—the American people will either rally by the tens of millions and quite literally march on the capitol, or the country will be finished. At 57, I believe I’ll be around to see it. And I guarantee I’ll be right up front.

Hopefully Fox will start replaying the show later in the evening...I am fortunate with the 5PM Eastern time on Fox...so I get to watch live

I think the first few days went a little rough for Glenn in FNC...but his show is finally hitting stride on Fox

Maybe they could move Bill O’Reilly or cut one of his shows?

Bill’s Quote of the Day:

“Any debate about the worthiness of the stimulus [package] is useless now because it’s going to happen. President Obama is sticking his entire future on it. But what is vitally important is that the money is spent well and honestly. President Obama promises to do that... [I am] skeptical that the Feds will spend our tax dollars wisely, because in the past, they have not.”

Thanx to Glenn. Well said.

Well, bein a native, were just plain damn mad about all that's goin on in our government.

I can say for a fact, were fixin to take stand if they keep a pushin.

Lotta folks don't know, but when you enter the Alamo, your to remove your hat.

It's not a suggestion, nor a request. If ya wanna come into the Alamo, your to remove your hat.

I know a lot of brave men. I will be honored to take a stand right along side’em.

Hope it don't come to that....but if so,

Remember the Alamo y'all.
