Public support for Obama's stimulus bill slips to 42%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | January 29, 2009 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 01/29/2009 6:41:51 PM PST by St. Louis Conservative

Public support for the economic recovery plan crafted by President Obama and congressional Democrats has slipped a bit over the past week. At the same time, expectations that the plan will quickly become law have increased.

Forty-two percent (42%) of the nation’s likely voters now support the president’s plan, roughly one-third of which is tax cuts with the rest new government spending. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 39% are opposed to it and 19% are undecided. Liberal voters overwhelmingly support the plan while conservatives are strongly opposed.

Last week, support for the President’s plan was at 45% and opposition at 34%.

As they consider the size and scope of the $800-billion-plus economic recovery plan, 46% are worried that the government will end up doing too much while 42% worry that it will do too little (see trends).

Liberals fear exposure and the truth. That’s why they’re going after conservatives. Liberals know that, when their corruption and deceit is exposed, the American people will vote them OUT! I have no doubt, the Liberal Messiah will be exposed for the Socialist he is.

42%? If you throw out the ACORN "votes", the illegal alien "votes", the foreigner "votes" and the deceased voter "votes", that's about the same percentage he picked up on November 4th.

44*

Can someone inform punk-boy Rasputin that issuing checks to those who pay no taxes IS NOT A "TAX CUT."

Oh yeah, he knew that already. Nevermind.

This 647 page bill passed by the House sure slipped through quickly. I am sure no one has had time to read it. It was introduced by Rep. David Obey, D-Wisc., as well as Reps. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Barney Frank, D-Mass.

Ding! Ding! The train to socialism has left the station.

If they don't several of them will take a pork bribe.

Well it really sends a credible message when you are celebrating the House Rats passage of your Porkulus bill by eating some $100 per serving steak and Grey Goose martinis at the same time you are chiding businessmen for taking bonuses...

It all stinks...and taxpayers, hard working Americans are the ones that suffer.... Lazy good for nothing people that don’t want to work will suck off the pig trough. So much for the CHANGE.......

They won’t even address the issue of what type of jobs have been lost. It is mostly White Collar and retail sales jobs that are suffering....

How exactly is rebuilding bridges and roads or changing light bulbs in government buildings and school houses going to employ those folks? Spending = short term jobs roughly 3 million people can get 277,000 apiece but after its used up its gone... and we still have to pay for it and no long term job is created....

IDIOTS...

Well less than 36 percent of the eligible voters elected Obama, all the media’s palm-palm cheers won’t change that stat.

Real change can only come with the end of polling, in addition to Rush, Fox,…., etc.

Lets look at the list...bridge builders=union, road workers=union, government light bulb changers=union, school maintenance workers=union...You don't need Fibonacci to see a pattern here.

its only recently the jobs that have been lost are white collar. Blue collar took a collassial hit in the 07 and early 08 when construction stopped dead in 06. Our company was one casualty. Many have given up looking for work, changed careers or went back to mexico.

"There are four ways in which you can spend money. You can spend your own money on yourself. When you do that, why then you really watch out what you’re doing, and you try to get the most for your money. Then you can spend your own money on somebody else. For example, I buy a birthday present for someone. Well, then I’m not so careful about the content of the present, but I’m very careful about the cost. Then, I can spend somebody else’s money on myself. And if I spend somebody else’s money on myself, then I’m sure going to have a good lunch! Finally, I can spend somebody else’s money on somebody else. And if I spend somebody else’s money on somebody else, I’m not concerned about how much it is, and I’m not concerned about what I get. And that’s government. And that’s close to 40% of our national income."
