Just Wow. For those that were listening, it was one of the most facinating exchanges between a listener and Rush Limbaugh. Rush was speaking to an out-of-work grandmother who loves Pittsburg, and used to live there when Rush was working at a local radio station. She said that she couldn't afford the trip up, and was nearly indigent, and Rush is going to get her and her son a hotel room, a ride from their home in FL to Tampa for the Super Bowl.
Between hearing "the hutch", and the profound gratitude of this grandmother, Rush's generosity and humility really made this one of his best shows ever....
....sniff... I love a happy ending
Rush does more for those in need in two minutes than Bambi has done in two weeks.

Listening made me tear up. She was so stunned...just appreciative that he would even try. Really a nice moment.
I think Rush wound up giving her five tickets. Could be wrong on that.
That was great! And I’m betting El Rushbo ends up getting her the five tickets for the whole family.
Just a correction, its Pittsburgh, not Pittsbur or just “Da’ Burgh” for short.
I agree, that was a beautiful thing that you won’t hear on your local news station. They only talk about Rush when they can twist something he says out of context.
I needed that ending to get me through next week. LOL
Those of us who listen to EL Rushbo know that he is one of the most generous people out there.I know of no liberal/leftist who is remotely as generous (unless it is with other people’s money).
And yes,it brought a tear to both that lady’s eye and mine.
Rush gave away a car to a caller last year (again it happened at the end of the show on a Friday if I recall).
And quite a few listeners thought it was not a genuine offer.
I didn’t learn of Rush until the late 1980s when he subbed for Pat Sajek on his tv show one week. I was conservative then too but listening to Larry King’s late night radio show (which spouted every liberal talking point and had a number of Democrat politicians as guests).
Well Act-Up held a protest during one of the Pat/Rush tapings in the studio and the audience had to be cleared (they kept shouting out during the taping). He interviewed the latter guests without a studio audience.
Larry King called it a publicity stunt.
Larry got his own daytime radio show years later but he didn’t last there (and he would hang up on callers and say “you’re dumb” when he couldn’t challenge their ideas).
I just heard that on my drive home. I got all choked up, too.
Rush is just a lovable fuzzball!
I she’s “out of work” maybe she should sell the tickets and use the money to help her family with more essential goods and services.

It is yet another one of those remarkable spontaneous events that have kept me listening for over 20 years. God Bless you Rush!

And sometimes people need to have an uplifting experience, it isn’t anything measurable out of her pocket.
If Rush wanted to give her a charity donation to meet her bills, he would have done that. And he would’ve been hit by such calls for the next umpteen months.
Rush’s gesture even had this hard core insensitive, unempathetic, cold hearted, SOB a bit choked up.
Well, he doesn’t think the Cardinals have it. Given that I really like Kurt Warner—probably the best guy around—I hop they do well. But that defence....BTW. Rothisberger(sp?) seems like an alright guy as well. Did you hear that interview he gave the kid reporter? Of course the kid is a better reporter: he had some good questions.

no he will TAX the super bowl which only 1/10 will go to some poor shmuck, then keep the rest for pork barrel spending. With that he will clam, ‘he won’.
He bought a new GMC of the listeners choice a couple of months ago to a lady. It just proves a point, libs don’t do this...period. Rush does this and pays the entire deal, tax etc.
Oprah gave away Pontiacs to the entire audience about 2 years ago. They had to pay tax, title and license.

Did Rush ever buy that one gal the GM car? I remember him saying he was going to. Rush is gotta be loving the ability to do these types of things.
P.S. Proof that real charity begins when someone has the money to do so and hasn’t been taxed so that government has it all.
What a concept! He’s helping someone in need from the good of his heart with what he earned, not taking it from someone forcefully and redistributing it to another.

Glenn Beck was near to tears on his show earlier today, and now this overwhelmed grandmother breaks down on Rush. Tear-jerker Friday. Here's the difference between conservatives and liberals, folks...conservatives are generous with their OWN time and money (Rush, Hannity, Beck; even O'Reilly), whereas communist liberals want to 'give' with money stolen from others.
NOTE TO RUSH: I’ve never been to a Hanna Montana concert...

I’m pretty sure that there will be a sizable check in with the tickets for “travel expenses” along with a letter requesting she keep the amount confidential. Limbaugh typically works his charity off the radar screen of the media.

I agree with Rush’s assessment that President Obama’s far left liberal vision for America is bad for America, and I too, hope that he fails, because when liberalism fails, America wins.
Heck Rush could have gotten off cheap with me. I would have said on Super Bowl day, me and my family will be BBQing turkey franks for the game. *wink, wink*, I would have been fickled tink with a little Allen Brothers.
