Well, you need a couple extra hours for the teachers to get sobered up-Arizona’s got that Pacific time nonsense, so they’ve already got their extra couple of hours. It’s only fair!/s;)

Actually, I just heard that “The Chosen One” is rooting for Pittsburgh. I wonder if that as anything to do with McCain’s origins. Oh, gone are the days of Bradshaw, Swann, and Harris.

I had to Google Martin Fierro. Very clever border state reference.

Yeah, but so is Rush.

I'm a Cubs fan, but so apparently (during election years) was Hitlery.

"Yeah, but so is Rush."

Disagreeing with Obama trumps agreeing with Limbaugh. I think Rush would respect that.

We didn’t start school late when I lived in Dallas, and the Cowboys were in the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys used to practice in my neighborhood, and Drew Pearson lived in my neighborhood. So we really should have been celebrating. (We did decorate Drew Pearson’s house after they won one year.)

It’s not so much about the teachers sobering up but the school bus drivers. My sister lives in Pgh. and said that the reason for this delay is so that the bus drivers will be in condition to transport the students. Ugh! But I must say I am still saying “Go Black and Gold!”

As a non practicing (former) drunk, past experience shows that a couple of hours 10-12 hours later doesn’t even show up on the radar to recovery, unless the person is a stone cold drunk. Then the couple of hours won’t mean anything anyway....

Go Pittsburgh! I hope they win. Resturants and other businesses are closing at 3 in order to allow employees to watch the game. That is pretty decent thing to do.

Wow! (Decorating Drew Pearson's house... how fun was that?!)

I grew up just north of Milwaukee, and one of our neighbors in the sixties was Hank Aaron. We used to throw the ball around with him in his back yard. He was Mr. Aaron to us.

What really made us sit back and notice was the time he got picked up by a helicopter. We were throwing the ball around in his yard when all of a sudden we watched a helicopter come out of the sky and land in a field behind his house. He grabbed his bag and shouted, "Gotta go boys!" He ran over to the helicopter and hopped in. It took off and headed for Milwaukee.

We just sat there, mouths open, and watched the helicopter fly away.

I must come to the defense of this very practical decision by the Pittsburgh Public School District (and several others...the list is growing) to delay the start of classes.

I live here...and yes it can be considered a courstesy to teachers, bus drivers and students that after being up til the wee small hours...BUT in actuality it has to do with Pittsburgh Police being called out, in record force, to assure the peace. Major road ways will be closed to vehicle traffic; club/bar areas (the South Side; the Strip District; Oakland) will have massive police protection. They have to (timing wise) alot for adequate coverage the next day...it was explained to me that the extra two hours (keeping the school traffic off the roads) would help w/the lessened Police manpower. Aren’t you glad you asked???

All that said...GO STILLERZ!!! Any face it folks...anything, and I do mean anything that get Rush Limbaugh and Barrack Obama agreeing is A FORCE OF NATURE.
