Heaviest Snow In Twenty Years Hits UK, Europe
The Times Of London ^
Posted on 02/02/2009 6:49:55 AM PST by Stevenc131
The heaviest snowfall in 20 years closed thousands of schools and caused transportation chaos up the eastern side of Britain, with London and the surrounding areas the hardest hit.
Six million bus passengers were stranded as all London's bus services were halted because of dangerous driving conditions, and almost every subway line was at least partially suspended.
Most commuter rail services were also cancelled or seriously delayed, and flights at London's airports were decimated, with both of Heathrow's runways shut, Luton and London City closed, and Gatwick and Stansted flights subject to delays and short-notice cancellations.
Similar conditions were reported in France as snow covered much of Paris, canceling flights and brining the rail system to a stop.

Any global warming conferences scheduled in Europe today?
To: DustyMoment
it is no wonder they have been pushing the term âclimate changeâ the last few years. Hasn't warmed a bit in the last 10 years despite ALL their science which predicted warming would keep accelerating.

Talked to MIL in Yorkshire, yesterday. They had already received 3”. When I looked at the weather forecast they were expecting 10” to fall over the evening. They got it (west and south). Biggest snowfall in 18 years.

Just a few days ago, the forecast models were showing a blizzard from the FL panhandle all the way up through the appalachians and Ohio Valley to Toronto.
obviously the timing changed and that is no longer possible.
but I got a feeling parts of the US are in for a very snowy 2nd half of winter.

Globalwarmists should be paraded around naked in sub-zero temperatures until they recant.

It's brass money weather in the UK. I've not felt it this cold for many a year though it is -1 at 3pm it feels a lot colder with the wind chill. It was -15 the other week but it didn't feel this cold as there was no wind. I know many places have worse winters, but we Brits are a tender lot and even a little snow closes the country down.
Kids love it - it's magical.
But...not much snow where I am in the West, enough for a few snowballs though!!!!!!.

Globalwarmists should be paraded around naked in sub-zero temperatures until they recant. I'll leave that job for you. I, for one, do not want to see Al Gore naked.

Dont come to Pittsburgh. A inch of snow causes the city to shut down faster than a nuke strike and if you have to drive, then you dont have to worry about hitting salt trucks because I think they dont want to get them dirty.
