I pray they are able to pass this legislation immediately, and that they are able to stop this barbaric practice. It will be a big victory for Pro-Life persons around the world if they do this.
Removing necessary nutrition and hydration from a vulnerable patient is not “mercy” in any way, shape, or form. It is murder. God has given humans the minds to create this technology that sustains life, even in fragile form — but it is STILL LIFE. If God wanted this woman in heaven right now she would already be there...
I look at these things as a sort of test of faith... Look at the Bible when Jesus talks about being thirsty, and giving Him drink, or hungry and giving him food, and that when you do this for Him you do this for the LEAST of our brothers and sisters. That is the passage that I recall whenever I read of these situations. Will you make the necessary sacrifices to honor the life God has allowed to still be here in whatever capacity (how do we know He isn’t keeping her alive for some reason — even perhaps her own spiritual needs...), or will you reject your loved one, and leave them to suffer a horrible agonizing death?
No, it’s not easy in the least to care for a truly sick person, but the choice itself should be easy... Those who would consider abandoning their loved one in this way have some very big spiritual problems, IMHO (especially the doctors who have made an oath to “do no harm”).
Italy sounds better all the time.
I’ll bet the left is browning its shorts over this one! They would REALLY like to promote “euthanasia”
